A nice visit from the travelling community yesterday morning

When you watch my big fat gypsy wedding, they always complain that they have a bad rep for no reason. I can't understand why they would have anything but a bad reputation :)

I was talking to a few the other day as they are all over atm with Appleby Fair and asked them about Gypsy wedding and about the girls staying virgins until they are wed. They laughed and said that's way they were going to Appleby anyway. They said at least 50% of the girls will go all the way and I shouldn;t beleive all the rubbish they put on TV ;)

They made the mistake of moving in under the arches of the railway viaduct leading to a bridge over the river Mersey a few years ago. Then the local darlings from the nearby sink estate found a new pass time, climbing up on to the span and dropping bricks around 100 foot or so onto the caravans. Apparently they were going through the top of the caravans like they were made out of tissue paper.

An empty (but used and owned) compund next a friends business became a home to these lovely people. They refused to move. Even after a Police order.

SO......the friend went round on the night, and welded the gates shut......thus trapping them for eternity :D

Looks like we have found a use for those 'darlings' after all :p

Do you not understand that leaving a steaming turd on your doorstep is part of their neighbourhood integration custom? It's intended as a gift. How dare you criticise it, you intolerant piece of filth!

I have no opinion of this community, i have never witnessed or made contact with them, beyond seeing their caravans parked in various places, though they may not be travellers.

I do not find the language being used against them any better than the perceived image of these people, it is really quite distasteful.

Stop it.

I am sure you would have a few harsh words to say if a couple of these characters moved near to yourself.

To be honest (and I don't condone posting abusive comments about people in general) I suggest you meet someone who has had these individuals on their land and see whether you find that less distressing than a few remarks on a forum. I've seen what impact they have first hand and I really very much doubt you would have no opinion if they parked on your land and dug a cess pit in it and threatened you with death and then, to top it all, you had to pay to get rid of them.

It's insulting they get away with this behaviour..its insulting to those of us who choose not to live like that and who make choices like working, paying tax and using toilets attached to a sewage system.

who decided to sue the poor dear? when did caravans come equipped with wifi and how did the gypos afford it anyway?

i agree with her 100%

Jesus - she's been treated like a naughty schoolkid. The only mistake she made was to not post it anonymously! I'm sure I'd be saying the same if they'd turned my local vicinity into a toilet.
