Ive been looking for an insignia for a few months now, and I need a bit of help from you motor gurus.

I'm sure that a few months ago I spotted a particular model of insignia with a £100 pound annual road tax.
Now when I'm looking I can only see the standard £215 that's mentioned on all models. Am I missing something or what? My local Arnold Clark seem to think there never was an insignia at £100.

Any help would be great, it was a deisel btw.

Says a lot about the delaer.

Any of the models in the 121-130g/km of CO2 band (D) will cost £100 a year.

The 2.0 CDTi ecoFLEX ES (Start Stop) 5d is £30 a year.

Saving a few quid on road tax, which is a negligible saving over the course of the year, isn't a great reason to buy an Insignia though. Also bear in mind that you won't return the claimed average for the high efficiency models.

Why do you particularly want an Insignia? Passat, Jetta, Mondeo, i40 or the Optima are all better cars in the vast majority of respects. At least, in my opinion (sorry Joe!).

We're in car buying mode at the moment and my wife came home the other day and said I think I've just seen our next car, it's called an Insignia. Silly woman.

OP - You've just asked a question on "Buying a Vauxhall Insignia" on arguably one of the worst places on the internet to ask a question on "Buying a Vauxhall Insignia".

Here on OcUK Motors even diehard Vauxhall Insignia owners hate owning their Vauxhall Insignia. :p

Instead of worrying about saving £115 a year in VED, I think the OP should concentrate on buying a car that won't be worth 10p after a couple of years of ownership.

Which is what? You've not exactly been detailed in your replies! :p

No idea - presumably the OP has some idea has he states that he's aware the GM rubbish is not the best in class.

Personally I'd have a mondeo over an insignia any day of the week - although frankly I'd most likely just get a 3 series which is a little older.

Except that's not quite true on an Insignia. Way way better than the old Vectras.

Walking with roofing tacks in your shoes is better than the old vectras :p

By all means not a complete comprehensive study but looking at 3 year old Insignias shows they've lost about 60% of their purchase price in 3 years whereas the Mondeo will lose around 40% in the first 3 years. I've obviously compared diesel to diesel for the sake of fairness. Hard to tell past that because the Insignia has only been around for 3 years.

I think he means they're better in terms of depreciation.

Don't understand why everyone is against the insignia? It's not the best car in its class. But it's far from the worst if you pick the correct model. And very affordable to.

It's OcUK motors, the simple fact it has a Vauxhall badge on it is enough to make it hated here
