Pump and Res combo
Compression Fittings

Can you check the ram please aswel, not sure if i should be using triple channel or dual channel.

thanks guys.

Does your dad really need an i7? As stated Ivybridge is a wiser choice. It has a better IGP, consumes less power and is also a requirement for the PCI-Express 3 slot.

The MSI mobo you intend to use has really sketchy details on it's spec (even the MSI website is vague). I'm pretty sure it doesn't support SLI mode and there is a GB mobo that does for a similar price.

not a spec as such. This build seems to be style as much as it is substance so I've pointed out some suggestions for you to use.

Your going to spend...all that, just so your dad can.....web browse and watch movies?
Man you have a lot of disposable income.
You could do that on any old cheapo computer for 300 bucks...

How about that?

Still overkill really but is a funky lil mini-itx build. SSD is there for fast boot times, lots of storage for media. Bluray drive so he can rip movies in HD to the 2TB eco drive (intel quick sync can really help with this using the IGP).

Mobo is Z77 so all the overclocking and IGP cleverness is compacted into a tiny lil mobo with built in wifi as well. PSU is overkill but a good price for a modular unit that is quiet. In fairness if he added a GPU this could be very gaming capable too should he change his mind down the road.

A retail Blu-Ray drive will be more beneficial as they included playback software.

Right guys, he wants the best and a tower system. He hates laptops and has an ipad already for all the little stuff. Budget wise is about £700 so anything upto that is good for him. He doesn't need a GPU because he doesn't need to game. He wants watercooling because of the quietness and looks.

I have some of the watercooling parts already so just need a cpu block, tubing, fluid and radiator.

Looking at the specs above i can cross off the itx build as he wants something biggish but not over massive. He likes the i5 3570k by RJC but need to squeeze watercooling parts into that price aswel.

He DOES NOT want an all in one solution watercooling unit
