I agree with you Sense is a lot more polished and more grown up in very many ways it's also very classy. I like the whole look of it, however get this I replace the Sense Launcher with Nova Launcher just my HOS can look like stock ICS because stock ICS looks just that little bit cleaner. I get the best of both worlds as Sense kicks in when I use native apps but I get the look of stock ICS ;)

In terms of the S4 chip I really want to see a lot more phones running it all of which are available in the UK because the chip as we all know is brilliant and it gives quads a run for their money. I really would like to see a phone with a replaceable battery and micro SD slot with a HD screen made available here. It's really not going to happen but I'm kind of hoping that HTC will make another phone with my wish list :cool:

With the HOX I really started to get paranoid, the phone got so hot I was reluctant to put the phone in my pocket for fear of getting burnt. As Skillmaster already mentioned the HOS can get extremely cold, like it#s been in a fridge, its quite simply awesome and a testament to the architecture of the S4 chip. As you can probably tell my time with the HOX wasn't an enjoyable one! :(

To be honest I really don't care for Moto and LG phones they've had a lot of high profile botch ups in the past in terms of their lack of software updates and failed promises, the LG 2X or Optimus was a complete mess up and I hate Motoblur and LG's skinning of Android. So unless something radical changes I'm staying well clear of those companies! :eek:

Download Battery indicator Mate and it'll tell you on the drop down notification bar what temperature your HOS is running at :)

For exactly the same reasons I wont get into Apple bashing because I don't want to turn this already excellent and informative thread into something nasty but I can't stand the company. Enough said! :D

I've got a busy week ahead of me but I will get around to posting pics in various situations using both the HOS and S3, just be patient with me.. :)

Awesome pictures Mate, it just goes to show you how good the camera is with auto settings. I particularly love the cat pictures, why do cats come across so laid back and cool in pictures?

What's the first picture of? It looks like some uber fancy bird house / nest!

Onto the S2 I agree with you, a year on and it's still giving other phones a run for their money, it just goes to show you that Samsung were ahead of the game when they first released it and it brought Android to the masses and was a game changer for Android as a whole. You have to give Samsung their Kudos there...

The only thing wrong with the S2 camera was the dreaded pink spot that appeared on light coloured backgrounds, it really annoyed the hell out of me! :mad:

I usually run one phone at a time and this is testament to how good the One S is, if I had any other phone and bought the S3, the other phone would be on ebay straight away, however I can't bear to part from my One S. Common sense is telling me that I don't need two phones and I know that it's true, however no way in hell am I going to get rid of the One S, as it's the best phone in its class and bar the S2, nothing else can touch it :)

Yeah likewise. It certainly won't be the last time we will see the S4, that's for sure :cool: I think once there is more supply for it, it will be the standard chip for quite a few phones within the next year and I can see a few of the next nexus devices using it :cool:

Yeah I got that impression from you regarding the X! :p Shame as the screen on it really is superb and does make the S screen look kind of puny :p :(

Likewise again, not phones that I look into detail for, just a quick glimpse at pics and specs and that's it :p As you can tell here it is much the same, Only really HTC and Samsung phone owners on ocuk :p :D

Ok, thanks I will get it installed tomorrow and see what temp mine is :), currently charging my mobile so it will be a rather high reading as charging the battery heats the phone up by quite a bit! :p

Lol, that is actually very true when you think about it and look at the photos again! They really are great creatures! :D I have got some quality photos of TC (top cat :p) with some awesome poses haha, will upload them tomorrow sometime :) It isn't easy getting good photos of cats though as they constantly move about! :mad: I got good ones of TC there though because he was playing with his blue ball for quite a while and was puffed out then :p

And that just reminded me of one of the other things I want! 1080P recording when using the slow motion feature! This is such a cool feature especially if you have a dog or cat :D But it really is a shame that you can't record in 1080P at the same time :(

One very handy feature, which I just remembered as well is that you can capture photos whilst playing back a video recording using the stock gallery.

Indeed! A custom ROM and extended battery for the GS 2 has given owners of it very little reason to switch to the new current phones unless their contract is up or/and primarily want a better screen.

Ah, just remembered that issue, yeah it seemed quite common that!

Yeah, you do appear to absolutely love the S :p and it seems that you have owned nearly every phone as well like Robbo :p :D including the GS 3 and X, so that really is saying a lot for the S! :)

Yup, I really couldn't be assed using/having 2 phones even if I had the money :p, too much faff and rather haver everything on just the 1 phone personally :)

He has such a unique personality for a cat as well, in some ways he really is like a dog! :p Very friendly, just purrs away every time you stroke him, give him food/milk etc. Doesn't know when to stop eating either! :p

one S, wasn't a great photo as you can tell :p A bit dark/dull under the bed and the sun was shining through a big window to the left as you can tell by the white glow effect on the white fur and carpet.

So not a good combination really :p


It is the only decent pic I have of her, she is impossible to get a good photo of! :p Will try to get a good one tomorrow.

Samsung have only used the S4 for LTE compatibility.

Once the A15 cores are ready to roll come the end of the year the krait core's won't be the daddy any longer - but all relative really as it will still be very fast.

Hoping the new Nexus uses A15's.

It is a nice photo, but the white glow on the carpet and sprite's white fur, kind of ruins it for me :( For that kind of shot, I need to manually adjust the ISO in order to avoid the white glow.

And yeah when you look through the photos (full screen, also 1080 res), they look even more stunning, just the amount of detail that is captured and the sharpness is incredible! Even more impressive when viewed on an IPS monitor! :p


How are you getting on Sarge? What do you think of sense so far? Tried the camera out yet? :p

He has done it just by using the built in feature of ICS :)

Go to settings>apps>click on app you want to disable>top right disable

It simply deactivates the app, will still take space up on the mobile but will no longer show in the app drawer, use any resources etc.

yeah i figured it'd be that... i was just curious to see if there was a way of actually getting rid of (as in for good [without rooting]) the ****.

i've disabled loads now and all the other apps are filling up memory, all in all, success :D

Still no sign of my nillkin case :(

So if there is still nothing here by 16.00 I am just going to order one of the TPU gel covers for like £3 although going to try and find a genuine rock case for the S and if I find one for a decent price, probably get it instead.

Quite a lot :p, so I'll just list some of the main stuff:

- all the sense widgets, sense input
- twitter, facebook and google+
- some sense apps and other apps such as the stock stuff, tweeter, flashlight, 7 digital, car, HTC mail, news and weather, notes, pdf viewer, tasks, tunein radio
- live wallpapers

And some other things.

Rang up T-mobile to get my PAC code and the guy tried to confuse me buy spouting out lots of specs for the Samsung galaxy s advance saying it was faster and better then the HTC One S. Also tried to get me to get the Xperia U but I mentioned the memory isn't expandable and he said that was the first he'd heard of it.

Lol, always make me giggle when sales people talk complete and utter trash! They really don't have a clue either. :D :p


Networks are so desperate to keep their customers that it is unreal! They would do and say anything!

Remember cancelling my last phone/contract with 3 (due to terrible reception) and the guy was spouting all nonsense:

"oh we are upgrading your area now so you will get better reception"

*goes and looks at site for work being done on areas, doesn't see my area listed there and tells the person that*

"oh.......ehhhhhhh.........mmmmmmmm.......this was only decided recently so the website hasn't updated with your area yet"

*what about all the other times that we have rang you before and completed surveys telling you about how rubbish the reception was, and you said that it would be sorted by a certain time yet it still isn't and then tells him about the message that I got saying we are improving our mobile data connection speeds for your area over the next 2 months and come to the time when it is supposed to be much better, it isn't!!!!*

"you must have a faulty phone then"

*ok what about the other 3 phones on your network in the household then? Are they all faulty too?*

"we have new range of phones, that improve the signal strength even more now"

"we can offer you this deal.............."

bla bla bla and just constant bull xxxx for like 25 minutes as well as being put on hold a number of times.


Sorry for that wee rant! But they annoy me so much! :D :p
