Sent from my iPhone

I does annoy me a little, I'm an iPhone user myself, an I hate those who are pretentious only because they have an iPhone. Ofcourse, thats not every iPhone user.

It is set by default on the OS. Some people never bother to switch it off, just like most folk never bother changing the default ringtones on Nokia's. Big deal tbh.

Sent from my desk with a can of STFU.

As pointed out already, all manufacturers get in on this and I believe in all cases you can change it.

High horse fail :p

Sent from my 3rd generation iPad

I think the first mobile device I saw this happen on was my Blackberry. Apple didn't start the trend.

I know this wasn't your point but you're right, Apple are (very) good at designing the product and making it desirable but it's often not something they've invented, they've simply repackaged it.

For the topic I always read "Sent from my (insert mobile device name here)" as being "I'm making excuses in case there are any mistakes in this message" - I'm sure I'm meant to be picking up how ubiquitous the device is or impressed that it has the capability but that's not how it appears to me.

I find apple annoying.

Nice kit shame about the company

Not sent form a iphone4sipad3-made-by-samsung-parts-even-though-we-are-suing-them-and-making-ourselves-look-like-complete-******s

Generally it identifies people who have an iPhone but no idea how to use it and therefore haven't found the setting to turn it off.

Sent from your mums iPhone.

hardly apple snobbery when every other device does it as well

also hating apple is "cool" because they are so popular, you didn't write this thread saying OMG my android samsung G3 does exactly the same thing did you

halk =fail

Hmmmm.

As far as I know, RIM started this first with their 'Sent from my BlackBerry' signature which is enabled by default.

So why are you knocking Apple for it? Why is it so bad that Apple do it when other manufacturers do it as well and in the case of RIM, they've been doing it a lot longer than Apple.

Oh wait, I forget that it's fashionable to knock Apple

Personally, I turned it off on my personal iPhone but left the message there on my work BB. I find it useful being there so that people will understand that the emails I send from my BB are normally shorter and more to the point than they'd be if I were sitting in front of a PC with a proper keyboard.

Is it only me that's irritated by this pretentious statement?

Sent from my phone - Fine.

Sent from my iPhone means it was sent from a phone, but not an ordinary phone, no it's an iPhone. I'VE GOT AN IPHONE.

Apple products can't be called normal products it seems, oh no, they have to be called iSomething, just to shove it under people's noses that they've got an Apple whateveritis.

What I find interesting is you are 36 years old yet do not grasp the basics of successful marketing, do you really not understand or is this just a silly thread because you are bored?
