Sent from my iPhone

As far as I know, RIM started this first with their 'Sent from my BlackBerry' signature which is enabled by default.

So why are you knocking Apple for it?

That was my thought. I've seen from some HTC phones, and I think some Samsungs do it as well? Whatever phone does it, it makes you look like a ****.

Yeah, "sent from my iphone" does annoy me, but it makes me feel proud that I have not bought into the apple cult :).

But then again I do send messages with "Sent from samsung mobile" at the bottom... I like it how it is as it makes sure nonsmartphone-aware people who might have seen me using a smartphone know I'm not an apple fanboy, but perhaps more importantly it feels like a bit of insurance - I feel safe in the knowledge that if my email seems short or poorly worded, the recipient will know it came from a phone and hopefully won't judge me as harshly... Maybe this is what the iphone users think as well... But probably not ;)

I feel comfortable being branded 'Samsung' as it isn't necessarily a luxury brand so it doesn't feel like I'm showing off my materialgoodspeen to everyone else as it feels when I receive an iphone email, but then again who knows how this actually comes across... Ah well.

Not sure if serious

Okay now I'm sure :)

It's not as bad as "Sent from my BlackBerry®" or "Sent from my Windows™ Phone 7®" or "Sent from my Nokia™" complete with their trademark and registered symbols which suggests the company behind it is sorely missing the point.

After all the whole point of "Sent from my iPhone" is to convey pretentiousness and "look at me I have a premium phone product" (and I suppose to conveniently warn people against sending you any links with Flash content on them :D). Where cheaper and less respected products just don't have the same ring to it. It makes one wonder what is the point in advertising that you don't have the defacto premium phone.

LOL for a minute there I thought I was on Mumsnet, not seen so many misinformed biased knee jerk reactions on here before (except for the footy forums :p)

To the OP I suggest you go there sometime and complain about how your inferiority complex was brought about due to lack of maternal love ;)

lolHalk seems appropriate but just doesnt encapsulate it enough!

ps3ud0
