, that is how I feel about it too. I also tease her about the fact if you want to be equal you should open doors for us guys too... (I'm so terrible at opening doors for women sometimes 
and she has the habit of reminding me of this so I remind her she wants to be treated as an equal.. so open a few doors for us guys too)...

It seems that most feminists don't want equal rights, they want more rights than men, and that's wrong.
They'll usually say something along the lines of "Men have been holding us back for centuries, now it's our turn." But I don't feel I should be punished for something people of my gender did before I was born; that would be like saying all white people today are responsible for the enslavement of blacks 300 years ago. Last time I checked, I didn't have any black people chained up in my back garden.
I'm all for equality but this 'positive discrimination' rubbish, which is both sexist and racist towards white men, has just got to stop.

Some more thoughts. Do you actively use the term '****' to describe a woman who may have had sex with a lot of people or may dress in a certain way? It's thrown about so much today but its still used as an insult.
Is there a similar term for a man? I don't think so. Men aren't looked down upon for being promiscuous, they're called a 'player' and seem to be congratulated. Why is that?

Never thought of it like that, I guess most peoples opinion is that "feminists" are ugly, hairy women that feel downtrodden. IE the general opinion is feminists think women should be SUPERIOR to men.
I dont use the **** word, but then again I dont go out that much. There is no term for a man, but I do think this is down to biology. It is a mans job to spread his seed with as many women as possible, women however pick the strongest one (in their opinion) and mate with only him.
I think although we have evolved past this, its not something we can get over.
Well put, my wife is all up for making the most money in the house and telling me what to do, but when it comes to lifting things from the spider filled garage, thats my job. Walking down the shop? My job. Mow the lawn? My job.

I don't believe we are truly equal, not in strength nor in the way we think, we are different, but it is because of that very fact that I believe equality between genders in the work place is extra important, we need more women in high profile positions, government, big corporations etc helping to make big decisions, I hate the fact that our government for example is ran by men as a large majority, I want more women helping to shape our future, I think striking a balance between women and men filling equally important roles in society is very important.
Ultimately I believe we are slowly moving towards a gender neutral society but we still have a long way to go.

But this is only if we are having sex to produce offspring. I don't think the need for a man to spread his DNA comes into it when we are having sex for pleasure, which is what most sex is for nowadays.

I think this is why so many people are against "feminists", because:
a) they believe women are superior (the whole name feminists kinda gives that away!)
b) they only believe in feminism when it suits them;
salary? should be equal
right to vote? should be equal
right to <insert x,y,z here>? should be equal
Expected to offer up their seat/open doors/offer their coat to a man? you must be having a laugh!
Offer to take a man out on a date and pay for everything? pffftt!!!
Oh, and apparently it's ok for women to hit men, but if a man hits back in defence he's violent and abusive?

Personally, I prefer the term humanist, as it more accurately reflects what we should be aspiring to.
I agree, however our bodies still think it is for reproduction. You cant get over biology that easy. I am happily married, with 1 son and another on the way. Think I dont look at a hot woman every now and then? Damn right I do.
That's true. However I still can't see why women are looked down upon just for wanting/having sex with a lot of people when men generally aren't, why is it bad?
Well sexual objectification of women sells. It's what people want to be/see. Men are also objectified but much less obviously because it simply is not as popular. Supply and demand kind of thing.
Make up and dressing well, men also are brought up to dress well unless you're a yob, we all make effort to look good. As to be aspired to be/look like a model, don't all the guys want to be tall, muscly Adonis?
What I am saying is, dressing up, make up and objectification does not translate into inequality as some gals as some guys all fall into this self-image "tell me what to do, I am following my primal instincts trap".
Inequality in my eyes is mostly about average wages being lower and less representation at executive / political level. However the question is, is it pure discrimination or a consequence of biological differences (pregnancy for instance).
