Hey guys got my Supremacy this morning and inside found a very concerning not with regards to nickel and different fluids used.

Looks like even EK have found distilled water and killcoils to cause premature corrosion on the nickel blocks.

Great... So my loop which consists of pretty much all of this "not to do" list is practically buggering itself...

Got this warning notice in a 6870 block a while back, I asked ek, they said premix fluids such as mayhems, ekoolant, ec6, phobya amongst otherness are all fine for use with the en blocks

I was going to go with Mayhems Ultra Pure H20, Mayhems deep blue dye and a few drops of PT nuke (with ek nickel blocks). Can you confirm whether this will be an issue?
As this is not a 'pre mix' I presume I'll need to add some sort of corrosion inhibitor according to this. I've no idea what I'm looking for though, any suggestions?

Well, now we can't say EK didn't tell us ;)
If only other block manufacturers who do Nickel products have these problems....oh wait , they don't!

HA what a complete joke,

EK are tripe tbh, going cheap and snotty on the nickel to try and boost their own fluid sales is well cheap and snotty tbh

Go with XSPC Stuff tbh, brilliant quality, cheaper price, and don't corrode after 5 minutes :D

Plexi isn't everything.

Besides with the latest additions to the xspc watercooling range, a loop with all their products will look just as good as an EK one, with no downsides.

I want to see the blood red coolant in the GPU/CPU blocks. Thats the only thing. does XSPC not have Nickel blocks as well? all their blocks seem to be copper to me.

Shock horror as EK promotes it's own fluid. I can see them voiding warranties further down the line if you don't use their own coolants. Don't know whats happened to EK, they used to be the best company for blocks and customer service. Nowadays they seem to have more problems than other manufacturers and customer service does'nt seem to be as good.

EK CS recommended me many premix fluids not just their own. Of course when you buy an EK product they are going to recommend the use of their own fluid. Why would they put a slip in to give essentially a rival company free advertising?

When I asked EK (in direct relation to this slip) they said they couldn't tell me what brands NOT to use but could tell me which brands come recommended via EK's testing. As I mentioned above, Mayhems (x1/pastel)/EC6/Ekoolant/Phobya premix all come recommended.

They did a experiment a while back and what they found was pretty much as shown here.

its in this fourm...someware
