Wtf... Thanks man just fixed it now. Why on earth would anyone put a feature to disable notifications in the main toggle bar? I'd never have thought to check that (or not noticed it for ages, at least!

Blue came form Urmobile yesterday, just been setting it up

Can anyone give me the status of Handscent and the notification LED. I really dont like the stock messaging app but handscent doesnt seem to be using the LED for notifications. Are we waiting on an update?

Also tempted by Omega but think I will run stock for a few days to make sure everything is ok

I have moved from an S2 and the S3 feels snappier, i do like the bigger screen which i thought would be too big for me when i first saw pics of the phone
 
I just watched the NZtechfreak SGS3 connectivity video linked a page back, very nice! I'll have to try some of that - especially HDMI output to my 27" monitor sitting on my bed playing retro games with a controller :D (yes I know that was possible with other phones but I've never tried it)

Amazon dispatched my blue S3 middle of the day yesterday for delivery tomorrow. :) Like others have said, I won't bother with play for pre-orders for anything but CDs or other things I'm not too bothered about getting quickly.

Think i'm gonna buy one today. Don't have a micro sim though; will it work without one? If not how readily available are micro sims? Am just randy to play around with the handset and don't wanna get home and find i can't use it for any reason.
 
^ you need a micro sim, the old full size ones will not fit.
You can get cutters to chop down the size of one to a micro sim size.
I'd go to the shop for your provider and ask if they can give you a micro sim and re-register on the network or if they have a cutter and can cut it down for you.

What more would you want it to do?

So when your using your phone, and you go in gallary, your tv appears at the top, all i need do is tap my tv and it pops up on the tv, same with videos, tv even apears in the share menu options.

i asked in about 4 phone stores only orange store as a pay as you go micro sim but would cost £15. :eek:

also not all normal sim size cards can be cut down to a micro sim size, mine couldn't....

so i had to get a new orange normal sim size card from the market and let them cut down to a micro sim size which cost £2. then i just transferred my number over to the new sim

it was a orange pay as you go sim

the gold contacts under the sim was a lot bigger the guy on the market tryed cuting it but the phone wouldn't read it.

Got the blue one and an o2 sim for a tenner. Box looked worryingly small. Opened it in store in front of the clerk to make sure everything in order. Hope it's boss :)
Edit: Comes with minimal instructions. How long do ineed to charge it before use? Also, is there any trusted youtube grabber/downloader for stock ICS? Thanks

Well after being patient & waiting for the pebble blue one's to come in stock, I've just pick mine up for CPW 1hr ago for £304 sim free after trading my Galaxy S2, which i got £195.

Cut my sim down with a template of internet all good to go now, need to find a decent case for it now.

Until its charged up, but no harm in using it whilst its on charge imho.
 
So after only a few days of ownership my precious has a tiny scratch on the screen. Typical really, I've been very careful with it and barely used the phone, not even taken it out of the house since I've been waiting on some screen protectors yet I still somehow manage to get it scratched! Puzzled as to how it got there. So much for Gorilla Glass 2 :(
 
Gorilla glass 2 is not tougher, it is just thinner but has the same "toughness" as normal gorilla glass iirc.

Grid/sand will always scratch glass no matter what and is the main cause of scratches on mobile screens.

Just ordered an S3 to replace my iPhone 4S.

What type sim is it? And also anyone changed from an iPhone to an S3 and regretted it?

Although looking at the s3 reviews it's miles ahead of an iPhone.

micro sim, so your sim in the iphone4s should work in the S3 as well.
