I went from an iPhone (3GS) > S3 and dont regret it 1 bit. Got a bit lost at first but loving it now :)
 
Any way to stop the notification bar toggles from scrolling from right to left EVERYTIME you go to it? I find it really annoying when I want to turn screen rotation on/off quickly for example. If I had to get power widgets, then I would have to keep going back to the home screen to toggle it and leave my current screen.

Honestly I don't care about Driving Mode, Sync, or Bluetooth as much as the other toggles.
 
I just did a full wipe and installed Omega v5.1... seems pretty cool so far! Sticking with stock kernel for the moment though as I keep reading about the odd bug with the others. :)
 
Anyone know how to get round the 'emergency calls only' problem? :(

I've had it in my house ever since I got the phone (release date), however out and about it's fine, which makes you think it's a coverage problem. But my BB Bold was on Vodafone and I had no problems whatsoever.

If I can't get any help on here, I may take it to the store some time during the week.

It's bloody frustrating though :(
 
Wow, the camera on this thing is pretty darn impressive for a phone device... even more so with the HyperX video quality mod that comes installed on Omega v5.1. Photos look like they are taken with a basic digicam, and the videos fill my 50" plasma perfectly (110MB per 31 secs though, eek), with good sound. Very chuffed.
 
The issue is that while voices sound OK, the sound in the camcorder lacks any bass whatsoever. VoodooSound should fix this though.

Yeah the camera is spot on. Panorama is very impressive, not 100% as there is some alignment/blurriness issues in places but it works well!

I tried to do a full 360Deg shot but there is a max number of images the mode will take before it just creates the panorama anyway, even without you clicking the shutter button again.
 
How are people finding the data restrictions (1GB), for use with this phone? seems like with the big screen streaming video would be a great perk, but flawed with the 1GB allowance most providers offer.

Is the SIII working with Voodoo, or is it awaiting an update? Just done some reading on it and it looks awesome.

Agree re the data it seems absurd to buy a £500 phone then nerf it by having carp data when that is it's prime reason for costing £500, especialy when the savings gained by such nerfing are a few quid a month.

Iirc Tmo do the S3 with unltd data for £36 a month £50 up front.

This.

I transferred my number from o2 around 3 weeks ago, and I haven't really got a bad word to say about giffgaff. You get unlimited texts, unlimited internet and 250 mins anytime any network, for £10 a month.
 
I've yet to compare the camera side by side (physically) with other phones but got the chance today, the S3 camera is slightly wider than the HOX/S2 but I was surprised just how much wider it was than the iPhone 4S considering the sensors are supposed to be a near match (according to iFixit's teardown):

The entire 4S is the size of my screen... :p
