Damn my hesitation!!

Hmm, wondered what happened in the end.

I still wonder why lying to your insurer isn't put on your record though, maybe it could be deterred by a hefty boost in premium for those who do it?

I owe my discovery of this absolute work of art to hurfdurfs posting of the quote referenced above almost a year ago. How I missed it I've no idea, but I'm very, very glad I found it.

me too! Got the box set for £30, awesome value.

Superb show, as said near to perfection. Some of the episodes are just amazing. Great show from start to finish.

For Sorkin fans, try Studio 60 on the Sunset strip, only lasted one season (which is a shame) and isn't as good as the West Wing but still a great watch imo.

It's one thing for a dispute to end in someone else's favour. Quite another burden of proof is needed to determine that someone deliberately lied to try to make a fraudulent claim/avoid paying a claim (fraudulently), and it probably doesn't make economic sense to push for that, especially after appeals which would presumably drag things out even more.

better than 24?

For me it's better yes as it's such easy TV to watch but clever and has lots of hidden stuff that only shows itself 3 or 4 times through. I have both 24 and Soprano's box sets and neither holds my attention like West Wing in fact I have finished neither but West Wing I am on 5th or 6th run through. I type this with Disc 4 of Series 6 playing.

Hahahaha, bet Dogbreath feels dumb now.

For all you West Wing/Hurfdurf super fans (of which I know 90% of you are), here is a list of things you may also have missed.

Studio 60/Sports Night - Both Aaron Sorkin, both flawed (as the West Wing is, despite it being as close to perfect as TV can get), both very similar to West Wing.

The Wire
Game of Thrones (High fantasy stuff but amazing story telling, Lord of the Rings without the hobbits and with a lot of sex and politics)
Sopranos/Deadwood (same show, one set in modern day, the other the wild west, when it was really wild, before the law, this isn't your John Wayne cowboy stuff, this is a legit portrayal of America pre USA)
Rome (also HBO like Deadwood/Sopranos but with some BBC added in to make it more palatable for BBC audiences)

And thanks to [TW]Fox for recommending this, it looks superb.

AHEM

I was watching it before you were all born so I am Spartacus! I appreciate it only started in the late 90's but I'm making a statement here.

Worst 'I'd hit puberty before 1999' post ever

Also I found myself becoming attracted to Allison Janney further through the show I got, Ahem.

When Toby and Josh kick off I like the MILF Toby is chatting to in the bar. I don't have a photographic memory, it's just on now :D

I watched it when it first aired in the UK, on channel 4/Sky 1 at 10pm on a Thursday night, I was 13ish and everyone at my state school, bar one kid who went on to study law at Oxford, thought it was boring Politics stuff if they had even heard of it at all. I was one hell of a weirdo as a young boy.

I've met you, stop referring to this young boy being weird :D

I just can't think of any other way to stop people from lying to insurance companies. There also seems to be little shame in doing it as well.

It's incredible to think that Sorkin wrote the first 2 seasons by himself whilst devouring boat loads of cocain, shame it cost him so much in the long run, he's clean now though.

All West Wing fans should definitely check out his other work, pre west wing Sports Night (with which NBC had no clue what to do with and did silly things like insert a laugh track into the first 3 episodes!) and post WW with Studio 60, which is Sorkin telling the story of West Wings writing adapted to a comedy series that is not SNL but is secretly really SNL.

What kind of weirdo accepts orange juice from a stranger? :p

Oh yea, by the way, this is on soon, guess who is behind it and hopes to come back to TV via HBO

Here is a hint, his commencement address this year.
