Some superb books there man, I love Ian Irvine. He's such a nice guy too...you can chat to him on Facebook! I sent him an email years ago saying how much I loved his books and he replied! The Karen Miller books are superb too.

I literally haven't read any of them! I bought them all before I left Dubai, intending to read them during the summer when it's too hot to go out! Then i moved back for Uni and I just havent had time

Those speakers S30'S?

How do you find them btw? I had the S70 floorstanders and thought they lacked life compared to the MS Avant 914i I owned at the same time. The Tannoy blow them both away though :p

Post pics of the Kef! I also had the Kef iQ 30 at one point. They didn't last long :p Looked beautiful though.

Not great, not terrible - for the money, I wasn't dissappointed.

A bit muffled on the bass side.

I'm very surprised by the noise they make when matched up to this amp - better than I ever expected from these speakers!

My home theatre setup in the living room uses iQ7 floorstanders, the quivalent 500W active sub & the centre from the same range (forget model). Like I mentioned previously, I was originally looking at others for a slightly different sound... but it turns out I like Kef :D

I have the Kef 3005SE (7.1) eggs powered by a Yamaha RXV 2067 for my HC....amazing speakers, especially for the size....

Often thought of getting a pair of floorstanders to create a 9.1 (or replacing the rear channel for Front Height)....not sure what to buy though?

String instruments do stand out nicely on the Kefs so yeah they are very easy to listen to :)

Personally I think I will always be a stereo listener, even for movies I prefer a nice pair of stereo speakers!

I've heard good things about them - never sampled them myself though.

Best way is to try them for yourself - quite a few AV specialists offer demo rooms and are happy for you to bring along your own sample music/movies.

Not sure where you're based - I was recommended a place in Coventry - trekked all the way up there & got some great service from the guys with all the speakers I fancied & a lot more to try :)

And my favourite music is based around string instruments (real or fake) :)

I find Kef do higher-end clarity like no other - but I'm sure that's quite subjective.

That's why originally I was looking for something a bit different for this second system - something with a bit more low and mid... I went to this shop up in Coventry and the Q900s really stood out.

4x 8" woofers and a slightly bigger tweeter @ 37mm (the iQ7s have 2x 6" woofers and 25mm tweeter)... they seemed to have all the clarity of the 7s (I think even a bit more refined) + bags more of everything else.

I think they've really outdone themselves with this new Q range & it's why I ended up spending double what I was intending to - lol!

As for movies - I love surround & a sub is a must! I like making the house vibrate :D
