You'd be suprised what idiots buy. Seriously it really is funny.

Yeah... idiots... couldn't possibly be people on a budget right? For a melee wizard thats not a bad starting point. Very high intel and a bit of vit, good block chance (5% higher than mine) but low armour and low all res.

WTF 500g EACH hit ?!!!!

I guess he got that figure from the thread on the US forums. It seems the OP of that thread fully repaired his gear, got hit once then repaired his stuff which cost 500g. The thing is that the first hit brought down durability by one tick but that doesn't mean one hit brings it down by one tick (i.e. an item with 50 durability would take more than 50 hits before breaking) so it's not really informative. It also largely depends on the item level. However I am reading about people doing Butcher runs without dying and actually making a loss. It isn't sounding great to be honest.

Well the patch goes live in a few hours for EU, and looking at the US forum its completely broken WD's =/

zombie bears don't work anymore (as in, you cast and they do no damage).
Spiders don't always attack any more.
our Slows are not always slowing any more.
Spirit Vessel (passive) doesn't work.

Then add in the attack speed nerf, yeah .. fun.

Blue posted saying the bugs will be fixed in the next major patch, great but what about the next 4 weeks? seriously?
not happy.

Ouch that's terrible, was looking forward to giving my WD a blast tomorrow with the new changes :(

And to add too - Spirit walk doesn't work anymore (you can't actually go through mobs), and our 120+ sec CD's are broken in terms of their CD timer (sometimes it takes as long as 400 seconds before the skill is available again).

How can changing a few tooltips break every single skill a class has? and why the WD again?

What. That shield is salvage ****. The vitality and allres is miniscule, with the armor and block amount on the bottom tier of level 60 shields.

If it'll salvage 500k worth of stuff we'll see :p
But it'll easily go for that judging from the prices on the market I reckon.

20% block chance as a base looks to be the highest common block chance for shields that don't have an extra bonus unless I'm missing something? :/

Getting a few better drops tonight :) Actually getting worthwhile things with All resist and some other useful stats. Not necessarily multi-million credit things but enough to allow me to upgrade my gear a chunk should I want.

Re: Mention of Witch Doctor. :/ What a load of rubbish.
Hope it isn't that bad...

It's really tempting to just sell all of my gear on the RMAH and start over with a new character, current prices I reckon I'd easily clear $100 which seems quite crazy and means I'd have been paid to buy and play this game!

This patch is sounding like a complete success

So they completely over nerfed Inferno. Repair costs are ridiculously high so you can't even make money without dying never mind with deaths. And they broke numerous Witch Doctor skills completely.

so if all gears were reduced by 1 durability the repair cost will be roughly 500g. that is really quite troublesome for us melee players :(

Not sure how that's relevant, I'm not suggesting giving up my job to play D3 instead, just thinking that I would enjoy a new character and could make a profit from the time I would have spent gaming anyway.

I still find it a bit bizarre how much people will pay for items in a game but seems madness to turn it down especially when I seem to pick up items for other classes most of the time.

So far I've played it through 3 times in normal mode.

Barbarian -easy
Wizard -have to bit a little more careful with your health
Monk -so easy it's untrue!

Not really people on a budget, some stuff that sells is really bad. If your on a budget, you'd be looking for bargains or the best you can get for your money.

It's not a bad item, but it would be something i would normally sell. If he put it on the AH for 30-50k it would sell.

/edit. It wasn't meant as an insult to people with a no money, but a little searching will get you much better items for the same price.

Anyone else coming on Hardcore? No RMAH, game is more exciting, drops are more exciting (Things you thought were trash in Softcore are great in Hardcore) and it's a great challenge, you need to know how to play and know the limits of your class.

Thinking of selling off all my softcore gear.

Meh, its tempting but it just means excessive farming to ensure your character is completely over-geared for an area so that even that 1 stupid combo of abilities doesn't kill you too easily.

Challenge certainly but nothing that can't be overcome by excessive grinding.

Has anyone tried 2-handing Act 2 inferno and above? Whats it like ?

1hand + shield is getting quite boring for me.

im seeing some quite good 2hands with 1.2k dps 190 str and 120 vit for 1m

No matter how geared you are, you still need to be able to play your class, 1 moment with a lapse of concentration or a using the wrong survivability skills at the wrong time = dead.

It's exciting stuff, those times when you meet an elite pack and aggro it, heart racing isn't even the word, especially if you get vortex'd in and escape with a sliver of life left. The prices on HC are also much better than SC. Gems retain their value, because people lose them when they die, so there's always a constant demand for flawless squares, especially amethysts.

I'm gonna remake my character if I die to a mistake, but if I die to lag or a server crash I don't think I'll bother. I can accept dying if I mess up, but not if the servers do.

I'll try it after the patch tomorrow morning. I have no intention of getting a shield yet :D
Not seeing many choices of weapon upgrade for myself right now. Using a 900dps 2 handed with vit and str around 100 and 925 life on hit. Going to need to save for a long while to get anything worth upgrading to from a quick look.
