sandisk ultra ssd 60gb any good guys?

Im thinking about buying this for my acer laptop to speed things up a tad, as the laptop is only [email protected], with 2gb of mem and got it running XP. Are these drives reliable.

Ah thats good. The only thing is I would like to stay with windows XP to make the laptop as fast as possible, but XP doesn't support Trim for ssd's?

No but garbage collection should still work and help maintain the drive

Any idea is these ssd's slow down if you write a lot of data to them? Ive got a OCZ Vertex 2e in my main pc and apparently they slow down if a lot of data is written.

Have you ever secure erased your ssd? And put back your OS image? This helps restore speeds ect

yeh,, I use todo it with my ocz ssd every month, untill I realized that after a few weeks the read speed for non compressible data slows down anyway. But it would be nice to use hibernate on my laptop instead of sleep, as Im guessing hibernate will load up faster then a full boot?
