Is it possible to put a new top EK DCP 4.0 Pump 18watt (I don't think it is) but my grandson with all his years of building computers and watercooling thinks you can.... ;)

Question number 2. In your opinions which is the better pump the EK above or the Laing 18W DDC-Pump 12V DDC-1T Plus ?

you can probably modify or make a top for it out of alloy/platic etc but i dont think there are any of the shelf for the DCP

ddc is more powerful i like the DCP series tho as they are neat

I have had both models - the DCP appeared to function like the 10W DDC. The DCP failed after 18months continual usage, so I binned it off and replaced it with a DDC - that DDC is still running fine several years (2+) later...

I'm not aware of any res's that mount, so you'll need to look at res's with G1/4 fittings.

This is an old pic near the beginning of my build.
and one of how it is now.
I am wondering if it could be pump vibration on the acrylic box.

i can't imagine that loop is putting any strain on your pump, so it would be pretty pointless replacing it imo

I agree with you but my pump is making noises sort of rattling like the bearing is going, If you know what I mean that is the reason I'm asking if the it would be a good replacement. :)

wonder if its a damaged impellor maybe if you coulld d take the pump out of the system and give it a shake to see if there is anything in there rattling . you can always take the cover off i guess and check it

It was what I was thinking really, but hoping it was not the case. :(

I have bought a second hand Swiftech MCP 355 18watt to replace it anyway to be on the safe side.

Are you still using Aurora fluid?

Yep still using it, seems to work well in my loop.

Ok I know what your saying but I spoke to the guy from mayhems and he said it wouldn't be a problem running it for, plus the fluid is changed every 2 months.

Quote from mayhems himself "System up time with Aurora would be impossible to say because every pc is different. Ive now been running it over 7 months now with no problems."
