Maybe a good chance to take an early night, hope all is ok over the weekend as i fancy a few rounds with the double xp, missed most of the last ones due to too much boozing/hangovers.
 
Dunno about you guys but out of the settings where you can select low, medium high or ultra it seems only shadow quality impacts fps. The others make no/minimal difference for me between each setting. Oh and that FXAA injector has made the game a whole lot better.

Do many of you use HBAO or SSAO or just leave it off?
 
HBAO on here, i always found any level of msaa was a real fps killer on my old sli 470's, also hit vram usage pretty hard. Now on a gtx 670 i just run everything on max, bar motion blur as it makes my eyes hurt.
 
Dont notice any performance issues for me! But i do have a 7970 and I don't use msaa only post AA set to high.... god I love the aug its awesome nearly 23% accuracy with it :)

I do game at 1440p so I will notice performance hits more.

Will be getting the next top Nvidia card when it comes out (later in the year I presume), till then will make do with my 5970.
 
120hz over 1440p especially for bf :) also u should see a gain in fps if u used msaa before as its not needed with fxaa and msaa is a fps ****!

I have never used msaa ever playing BF3, since as you said it **** up your fps.

Does not really need it at 1440p as the dot pitch is so fine on my monitor, I only run at 60hz for the record.
 
just stuck the injector on better than the previous one bit bright on maps with sunshine but definitely better :cool:

lol at this game and reg

uploading a video to youtube ping is like 300 i get better reg with that high ping that my normal 10-15 :D clown shoe game tbh :p
 
Haha yea since CQB been released I get such bad reg when playing close quarters its weird but go USA servers when i play late at night and its fine! But going back to normal 64 player conquest the reg is fine again CQB is **** if its normal mode hardcore is loads better!

Hmmmm -a question for the more knowledgeable....

I'm going to have to do a format/reinstall soon, irritatingly so soon after having origin download the 5gb patch..... is there:

A) anywhere that I can download the patch as a standalone - so I can (ahem) utilise my work's far speedier connection.

Or

B) Is it stored as a file somewhere on my system already, and further to that - in a usable form?
