i think bendtner would be successful at spurs
It's harsh, but I believe the loan system is broken - it's encouraging wealthy big clubs to sign as many promising talents in the hope that they might turn out OK, they then send them out on loan in the hope that they might get game time only to find out the loan club has other priorities, the developing player isn't quite good enough and ends up sidelined.
You point out some success for loanees at your club, perhaps this issue is worse for potentially elite players? I believe McEachran has (at least partially) wasted a season, and it bothers me enormously that he could follow the pattern of Gael Kakuta, who has had one disappointing season on loan after another. Some might say, "oh but Sturridge had a great loan at Bolton, loans work." I just see it as evidence that he would be better served full time at a club that's the right level for his current ability.
You're right about Phillips, one of the best wingers out side the prem, both him and Ince could cut it in one of the lower end prem squads getting a decent number of games under their belts, but Blackpool isn't going to hold them back for now.
Rhodes and Butterfield just need games more than anything else, being a rotation option for either in the prem would do nothing for them really.
Don't have any time for Zaha yet though, thought he was utter pap both times we played palace. Despite having significantly more pace than just about any saints player his entire game was 3 step overs and loosing the ball, so any player with the slightest ability stopped him from doing anything. Couple of seasons at palace could help him but its the classic "he's english and has pace so must be good" thing.
Clyne is another player to wack on the list, I don't rate him as a RB that much, but right midfield he could be pretty good and some decent training could help him. (well aware that he is transferring just not sure where)
He's only got better and better. That game versus Wycombe last year was a perfect example. Had six or seven EPL scouts there to watch him and he put away 5 (?) goals I think.Should do the B teams like in Spain.

-Nicklas Bendtner > Tottenham Hotspur / Everton: Will never win over the majority of Arsenal fans and is now arguably surplus to requirements. Spurs are in need of a striker and being able to stay in London would presumably appeal. Everton might be another possibility as they are a bit short up front too.

Your correct that Johnson has mainly come on as a sub but he had made an impact when he has done in most games. Downing has done nothing either starting or sub. It is quite frankly embarrassing that he didn't score or get one assist.
I think it would do him good to go to a hard grafting club for a season.

I've only given this a very cursory look so far, it looks to have some interesting ideas but it's really about the academy system, and the principles agreed only take effect from the coming season....the EPPP...
All with one loan season away from the parent club. It may have been OK in the past, but there has been a shift in how loans are being used and that's at the heart of my objection. Perhaps it's because Chelsea are leading the way in this corruption of the system that I've noticed it, and the recent rule change to allow loans between Premier League clubs has made it easier to abuse loans.Jermaine Defoe, David Beckham, Frank Lampard
How long has this been the case?don't play the loan player we have to pay his wages... meaning that we have to have the players best interests at heart

Kakuta, Bruma and I think others are going into their fourth season on loan. Does anyone else feel the same way as I do? that this is fundamentally wrong and not how loans were ever intended to be used, nor is it the best interest of players and their best chance of improvement.
Partly I do blame the young players and their parents/agents for being drawn by big money and prioritising that above long term development - though I wouldn't like rules trying to limit salaries at any age, I feel quite strongly that anyone should be able to earn whatever the employer is willing to pay.
How long has this been the case?
Johnson has had massively more appearances

Jack Butland needs to play higher than league 2 football, hopefully he'll get the transfer to Southampton.
I saw him play this season vs Wimbledon - immense keeper, will be great competition for Joe Hart in the future.
Adam Johnson! He's so much better than a bit part player, a loan spell at a mid table team for a year might do him good.
Think Adam Johnson would do well at Liverpool but the resident Scousers may disagree.
