Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Gustov, haven't you been 'contemplating selling it' since the day after you bought it :p

Track day it. That's how I justify keeping mine yet not driving it. I've only done 5k in the last 18 months, with most of that being going to and from track days.

Well, kind of but I had been driving a 1.2 fiesta for 4 years and fancied something with a bit more power.

What do think would be a reasonable price to sell for? I'd wary of track days, picking up a major fault and massively depreciating the value of the car.

You'll be hard pushed to get more than £3k I think.

If your serious there are a few guys on here who have been looking for one.

I would sell off the bits too, wheels, exhaust etc. Get £3-400 for them, you won't get any extra for them being on the car.

Just realised I'm about an hour away from the Evo Triangle :D

What tyres are recommended still? The V12s and Uniroyals are the same price.

Don't mind spending a little extra though.

Would probably have jumped at that had I not already bought one heh, ah well I'm loving mine, especially the colour tbh, baked bean for the win.

Cleaned twice this week, once jut a quick wash, the second time a bit more thorough then used autoglym aqua wax, but I think my lack of patience and me knee problem meant I've done a shoddy job. It's amazing the marks you notice the first time you thoroughly clean a car. Mine is -covered- in tar, I tried some tar treatment but I think this must have been on here long term, perhaps time to clay bar? Bit of an amateur really!

So, question. Having never had grooved brakes before, is the time to replace the discs just before the grooves wear out, or is it before/after that? No problem with them, just thought I'd ask while I remembered :) I do love the brakes though, they're only green stuff pads and grooved discs so I'm highly tempted to try Brembo HC and ds2500s when they've worn out :D

Another question is after a hard drive home from work this afternoon, the temperature dial creeped up to about half a notch above middle, whereas from what I've noticed, it doesn't generally move normally. It was fairly warm, and it was a good hard drive. Should I be worried? No sign of problems with coolant, and it didn't't go any higher than that half a notch. Started to cool down after I got into town in pootle mode.

I've got Brenbo HCs and DS2500's. Didn't think that much of them on the road, but on my first flying laps at Rockingham I braked hard into the hairpin and nearly ripped my face off :D

My temperature dial has always sat just above half way.

Brakes sound good :D

Hm, maybe I'm being a bit over sensitive then, will just have to keep an eye on it. :o

I wouldn't let mine go for any less than £3500

I understand nobody necessarily wants the 'upgrades' but I'm sure there will be someone who is willing to pay a little bit more for...

Turinis = £600
Splitter = £20
Eibach + fitting = £240
Re-map and exhaust = £632
Badge = £40
Tyres = £288
Bullets £35

That's £1567 (haven't included tyres) and considering I paid £3,300 for it that's £4867.

Obviously everything is now 2nd hand and i've done 4,000 miles in it. Pretty sure I'm going to sell though :(

Well that's why I've taken over £1300 off the tally of £4867! Like I say, I'm pretty confident I could sell it for £3,500 with a good advert and good pictures (which I do have)

You never get you money back on stuff like that. You're not going to get more than what you paid for the car - It'll never sell for £3500.

Badges, splitters and bullet mods I agree. But wheels (mint condition), engine re-map and stainless steel exhaust over the stock one. I don't think I'm asking for too much (£200 more than I paid for it)

If you say so...

Just had the two fronts changed, asked while it was up to have a look at the rears as I was pretty sure the bearings had gone in one of them.

Turns out they have, so that's two new rear discs and pads?

Best place to buy them and do them myself? I was quoted £199 all in.

edit; And until I get them done, will I just be irritated by a whirring noise or am I going to destroy my disc etc?
