Sigurdsson has agreed personal terms with Spurs, snubbing the chance to work under former Swans chief Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.
Rodgers is said to be furious with Sigurdsson's decision to join Tottenham after holding extensive talks with the 22-year-old.

ouch :D

I don't see how Spurs are much more appealing than Liverpool? Spurs have no manager and are likely going to lose Modric, and Liverpool are building a new team for the future and have quite a bit of funding.

Ah, he's probably the replacement for Modric. :)

Nevermind. Looked like a good player for Swansea but after seeing how poor Adams was after shining in a lesser team I'm not all that bothered that we missed out.

Aye Sigurdsson isn't great, got a good strike on him but that's about it, I was expecting a dominant midfield performance from him when we played Swansea at the tail end of last season and he was average at best.

I thought RvP played on the wing quite a lot for Arsenal a few years ago?

Yeah when Henry played, RvP was shunted out wide to fit him in. Now RvP is the man, somebody else can be shunted out wide. We need RvP central (unless we buy a creative CM)

we're building, although i thought we were

Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen fears his proposed move to Tottenham has fallen through.
Spurs are believed to have agreed a £9.6m deal for the Belgian international, who has one year left on his contract at the Dutch club.

Jan Vertonghen: Spurs move in doubt

But the transfer was held up by a clause in Vertonghen's contract entitling him to 15 per cent of the fee.
And Vertonghen, aged 25, admits he doesn't expect Ajax to reach an agreement.
'This is a shame. I thought that it would be sorted out much sooner,' he told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.
'As it looks now, I’ll be at Ajax on July 2. I’m hoping for a solution, but I’m not expecting a solution.
'I have one advantage: Ajax have got a good coach who knows me. I play in a good, stable squad. Let’s become champions with Ajax for the third time in a row.'
Vertonghen also hit out at leaks from within the Amsterdam club about details of the proposed transfer, particularly his right to a portion of the final fee.
'I’m shocked. The percentage is correct. It’s unbelievable. I know that at Ajax a lot of things are leaking. When you hear it about other football players, you don’t feel it. It’s different when it’s about yourself,' he added

Hopefully it means hes no longer required:p.

shsssssssssssh ffs, DM will think christmas has come early :D

could see rvp playing in an attacking role behind poldolski/giroud.

maybe in a 4-3-1-2, with arteta, song and wilshire ?

I hope Sigurdson has gone for the money and only that, tbh didn't want him anyways but would be nice to see we actually still attract people.

Don't know what to expect from the rest of the window other than poor decisions.

If it meant we'd be keeping Aquilani i'd be pretty happy.

Comparing Him to Charlie Adam :o Charlie Adam has to be one of the most limited players around, it was obvious to everyone he was overrated by King Kenny. If you put Sigurosson in any top six side he will score goals for fun.

Actually hes one player that both me and DM agree on, he shouldnt be wearing an Arsenal shirt:cool:

I like Walcott and think he's done very well the last 2 seasons with goals, assists and general performances. Think it would be silly to let him go.

Hes done ok, not saying hes a terrible player but his performances are far and few in between ie he will have a few good games then go largely unnoticed in others. Plus hes wanting £80k a week from Arsenal now to stay on....personally hes nowhere worth that much salary wise.

hopefully they've learnt there lesson from last season and do a bit better with anyone they might bring in, but with the following players, i think they have a decent chance if rodgers can get them playing.

Aquilani should do a decent job with rodgers style of play.

if lucas can get over his injury and get a decent pre season in as well.

joe cole appears to be getting a chance to show what he can do (like Aquilani should suit rodgers style liverpool).
