Has this ever happened to anyone? Kinda scary stuff.

Got a call from Lloyds saying a transaction via Western Union of 500quid was attempted as well as a 2000pound purchase on PC world.
My card was also registered on Experian (credit history website) using my real name, real address details and bank details!
So Lloyds has cancelled my current visa debit card and Experian is investigation the registration on their site.

I've changed all my major passwords on my emails and so on.....is it weird that I feel intense anger and hate towards the person using my details?
No clue how I've been compromised.:confused::confused: :(

Yea, I had my current account emptied once over a Fri-Sun via ATM withdrawals all over Italy :p

Don't get worked up about it, it's nothing personal against you and apart from being a minor inconvenience is no big deal really.

Sorry to hear that dood!.. I've (touch wood) been luck so far, not having this happen, but I suppose it's only time!!..

Good luck getting it sorted! :)

I doubt it. A HDMI lead from there is about, what £30? and Norton AV another £30?

I think you missed...

Not sure what you mean here - are you saying someone attempted to sign up for access to your credit file online with all the correct details and using your bank card details to pay?

Anyway, despite not being too worried about my bank account I'm pretty scared now of what other info of mine this person has access too. I'm freaking out about keyloggers or malware and stuff!

Lol captain obvious to the rescue!

I had a problem a couple of months ago, where £313 or there abouts was pending to go out my account, and after going through fraud department it turned out it was a payment to Wonga. I've never used Wonga before, and no one that I know has used Wonga, so after phoning Wonga to find out the script, they told me they had no information with regards to my name on their system at all.

In the end up, my bank, bank of scotland, ended up processing the transaction and then paying me back the amount that left, and then they went on to investigate themselves.

No idea how it happened, but got my money back within the next day.

I think my case sounds a little more severe than that. Western Union plus PC World plus Experian with full personal info......:S

Happened to me over a year ago, Lloyds called me out of the blue, sying someone attempted to use my card on some tatoo website, because it's out of my 'normal' card behaviour, they rejected it and called me.

Had a new card issued and just made some changes to my details. Safe since. Until now, I have no idea where my details was taken from, have always been fairly careful with my online purchase and shredding of details.

Had the same 2 years ago with Lloyds when they called me out of the blue. Was sorted out within 5 days.
