Anyone else not liking Samsungs keyboard? I prefer the default android one I used on my smaller screen nexus one. Also I seem to keep hitting the bottom of the screen when going for the menu button. I think I'm rolling my thumb up ever so slightly when I press so I am hitting the button but then touching the screen slightly.

Just install the ICS keyboard then? Simples, this isn't an iPhone where you're locked down to a single keyboard
Oh yeah I will. Just I would have thought samsungs would have built on the stock. But things like when you select a word from predicted text and then add a full stop, it puts a gap between the two. (I bet if I tried it now it wouldn't but I swear it's been doing something like it lol)

Btw why does the S3 constantly show the keyboard thing in the notification window when I am in a text box. What's the point?

I've rooted my S3, but still using the stock firmware, it's now offering me the "software update" that's been going around for the last few weeks (the ~8.5MB one), however I'm unable to install it through the phone, as obviously it boots into CWM recovery on restart, and KIES doesn't seem to work either.
How did you guys get this installed? Is there a zip I can flash?

Get your PAC code and you'll get a call from retentions within a day or 2. That's what I did and was offered a blue S3 at £26/m with 600 minutes 3000 texts and 500 MB data.

FYI: I've recently started a new Vodafone contract through mobiles.co.uk for a PB S3 with 600mins, unlimited txts, 1GB Net for £28.50 (24 months)
NB: I'm not recommending mobiles.co.uk, in fact I think they suck ass for 'customer service' - just letting you know what deals are out there, regardless of your 4 years loyalty.
Good luck mate, I am sure it will work now. Don't forget to change that CSC code to BTU after the flash and you have 100% stock samsung goodness and will get the OTA updates as they are released. Let us know how you get on

Success! It does help when you actually try and flash a valid file! All went through perfectly, and I set the CSC code to BTU, phone is now 100% stock. Can't thank you enough for your support Grahame, brilliant!
