BenQ XL2420T Now available

It has HDMI but no audio i think :/ not entirely sure I can certainly try it and find out though

It has headphones out, no speakers though.

Since it has no 'audio in', I would presume the headphone socket worked to give out the audio from HDMI etc. Haven't tested mine, but I was planning on it.

Hi
i've already posted a message about my stuck pixel but i'll deal with it by myself, i think i gathered enough informations.

i'm having trouble tweaking all the things i'd like to (hmmm...). first of all i'm shocked by how washed the colors are by default ! is that normal ? i had issues with the drivers, windows 7 didn't want to look for new ones at first. i think i solved the problem but not so sure.
So, the manual says : " Available menu options may vary depending on the input sources, functions and settings. Menu options that are not available will become grayed out ."
i actually have many options in grey, like gamma, color temperature etc... i'm using a dvi cable so where does the problem come from? my graphic card is a 7970 if that can help. i also noticed i wasn't in 120Hz, i'm in 60 hz(the monitor is already pretty fast though !). i've read several times "standard mode" but i don't see any standard mode in the manual or in the menu, i'd like to go for that and see how it is.

If you can set these options, your fine:

Gamma 4
Brightness 5
Contrast 50
Colour Temperature 96/97/100
Sharpness 5

My eyes are sensitive to this, but on 100/100/100 RGB I noticed on a white background, I was getting a very minor hint of red next to the left bezel. When I say minor, it's a very, very light halo. It's very minor but once I had noticed something was there, you recognize it more.

So I toned it down to 96 red, 99 Green and 100 blue which counters it. I just want to know if this may be a problem in the future that will develop, or do I return for a 2nd time?

I'm happy that there are no dead pixels and the black levels are MUCH better than my last, no clouding, etc.

It's just I hope what I said isn't a sign to come. I will replug my DVD-D in and update graphics card. Also, will re-seat my card too. I did not get this on my last BenQ XL2420T nor my old monitor.

the thing is i don't know why i can't touch some options like gamma, color temperature, saturation, hue... I use a dvi connection.
btw my stuck pixel is still here. hasn't made any progress with my problems :(
thanks for the suggestiosn if i find how to make it work

Is it normal for on these settings whites to not be very white? Almost reddish? I believe I have said this earlier about Gamma 4 having red area's around the top.

This is waiting for me at home at the moment :D:D

Although, my HD 7970 (MSI) only has single link DVI ports, does this mean I won't be able to play in 120 Hz?

Thanks for any replies!

It's the cable that has to be dual link, not the port.

Actually it's both. The GPU port controller needs to be able to handle the correct bandwidth and so it can tranfer the data properly. The MSI 7970 is gimped in that its DVI-I ports are only capable of outputting to a single DVI channel (single link).

@ crusa. You will need to use the MiniDP ports. You will need a MiniDP to DP cable or 'straight DP cable' and adaptor (may have come with your GPU) for 120Hz goodness.

Ahh ok, thanks for the reply :)

So after 3 monitors returned I got fed up.. red tint here, clouding across screen there, dead pixels.. I did like this monitor too but may hold out before re-ordering, see what else is on the market.

Could have been a bad batch, by the way. Don't be put off.

Ok guys, this is a small but slightly annoying issue. Maybe someone has come across the same thing. Everytime i boot the pc up i have to manually goto nvidia control panel and change it back to - BenQ 120hz 3D LCD - because it keeps resetting itself back to 3d vision discover. Now i know this isnt a big deal but even so its slightly annoying. It's done the same thing on the latest drivers and all others ive tried. Im thinking its related to sli?

Red tint? I have a similar issue, although only occurs on one of the gamma settings and only at the top left of screen.

Is it an actual problem? If your problem is similar to mine.. Guessing it's not a problem that it can be returned or taken up with BenQ for?
