Haha Geforce, so shrewd!

Read my post again. I'm simply saying they are NOT competitive at the moment. But that is no reason to ignore them forever more. There is no genuine flaw in their processors, it's not like they have a track record of blowing up or any reason that might make you not consider them when making an informed purchase.

I love how a bunch of Intel fanbois whipped out their benchmarks and started on me before reading my post properly. Making informed purchases and not taking into consideration a baseless preference to any specific brand is always the best choice.

Edit:
Again.

AMD aren't competitive at the moment

My CPU will always be whatever is best for my money.

Lets face it, there is absolutely no difference between AMD and Intel CPUs.
It's not like you can complain that your CPU has bad drivers or anything. AMD aren't competitive at the moment and that is unfortunate but hey.

I've got an AMD card because it was the best value for the money I wanted to spend at the time. Never had a problem with it. Never had a real problem with Nvidia either.

Edit: Also the idea of games being "built" for Nvidia is absurd. According to steam stats, 35.77% of cards are AMD vs 47.93% Nvidia. If I were making a game, I definitely wouldn't be keen on ruining performance for 35% of my audience.
Lulwut.

EDIT : Yes, you've said "AMD aren't competitive at the moment" but that's a contradiction to there's "nothing different between AMD and Intel CPU's".
Sounds like typical "Don't notice any difference between an AMD 'n Intel CPU" justification.

@Martini1991.
As I pointed out, my post was poorly worded. What I was simply saying, targeted at someone specific, contributing in a friendly discussion, was that there is no difference between AMD and Intel CPUs WITHOUT taking into consideration speed. The person I am referring to said that "from now on my processor will be Intel" and I was suggesting that, beyond the speed considerations, should AMD return to a competitive place in the market, there would be no reason to only purchase Intel processors. Because there wouldn't be. Because there isn't any difference beyond speed.

I'm not justifying anything. I don't need to justify anything. I'm simply making a very simple not particularly offensive point. I fail to see why that would be considered a justification for anything at all. I'm definitely not justifying AMDs current position in the market and suggesting that their current processors would be worth a purchase, and my post made that, at least, reasonably clear.

It's a contradiction, you can't say one with the other.

Agreed if AMD returned to form (Like that's going to happen anytime soon) then there wouldn't be any reason to not buy them (price/performance included)

Your PC's Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 is below the game's recommended specification.

dont see why you would buy amd(ati) anyway....

from **** drivers > decent drivers > good drivers > **** drivers
in the space of 10 years
......

clearly on a downward spiral again

nVidia drivers have been pretty ropey for the last few releases - about on par with AMD drivers :D - difference is tho nVidia does actually put some effort into getting them working properly again (and 301.24 work flawlessly on my 470s even tho the 304.48 betas have some issues.)

I hate bubblegum... Just saying, you know, cus' it seems to be the theme in the thread. Hate n' all.

Batman springs to mind.

Has already said though, nothing new. Ingame marketing has been around for many years.

CPU's, GPU's, Sound Cards.

Cheaper cards at the same perfomance as nvidia ones and also the drivers are never a problem for a lot of people infact my experience has been the total opposite. nvidia drivers crashing and never had a problem with amd ones.
