What effect does coffee and caffeine have on you?

Doesn't seem to affect me. I have a bean-to-cup machine and I have 1 cup in the morning and 1 in the evening. I like a good cup, so I used to buy all my beans at Monmouth Coffee Shop near Covent Garden, but since I changed work location I have to buy them at Whittards.
 
It depends if you're caffeine sensitive. I am, which is why I rarely drink tea or coffee, unless I am out at a restaurant. I don't drink too much though, otherwise I'm up half the night - no change there! :D

This is exactly what happens to me, any caffeine or chocolate can send me lightheaded and/or dizzy, had tests done due to the palpitations ect.. they say its due to the caffeine, it can make anxiety levels increase and can set off panic/anxiety attacks in some people.

all i ever drink is decaf stuff, and tbh i cannot taste much difference from ordinary tea or coffee.

However, if I break my routine and have a Redbull or Relentless at lunch instead of a Coke I'll feel a bit more wired. The same if I have a proper cup of coffee or two at the weekend.

I think I've only has too much coffee once — I went from buzzing to shaky to sick over the space of an hour or two.

Just thought I'd bump this thread because since Heliospherez posted I've been consciously trying to cut back.

I've gone from the amount posted in the quote above, down to one cup of coffee in the morning and the Diet Coke at lunch.

I've replaced all of the other drinks with plain hot water so I still get a comforting hot drink.

To answer Magnolia's question; for the first week of doing this I got serious headaches at about six in the evening every day (and I very rarely get headaches normally) and I've found I need the toilet less.

The headaches seems to have subsided now and I'm going to try and reduce my caffeine intake further by switching to caffeine free Diet Coke (although as my girlfriend points out; no sugar, no caffeine, no point so I'll probably try and cut that out as well).

I don't think I'll be able to rid myself of the first coffee of the day just yet and I really enjoy a 'proper' coffee at the weekend, but I think I'm heading for a more normal caffeine intake and hopefully I won't rot my insides completely. :o

Same, I used to drink gallons of it when I was younger, but since I developed an anxiety disorder somewhere along the line I find strong coffee sets it off. It's a shame because I really like the taste of it.
 
Makes my breath stink and my teeth to go brown.
Also creates a craving for chocolate and a dispensation for headaches.

I try and avoid it but it is nice.
 
Sounds stupid, but for the last 5-6 years, caffeine hasn't really affected me. Only until about 2-3 weeks ago, I can actually feel the buzz people talk about. Not really sure why.

I didn't purge or anything.

I have two cups of coffee a day at work and it doesn't seem to effect me that much apart from I enjoy the taste (especially when in combination with a Yorkie)

A while ago I got a large filter coffee from Starbucks and drank it too quickly - could feel my chest tighten and started sweating, then later I had a really bad head ache. Not a good day
 
I only drink strong espresso but when I do 1 cup just perks me up a bit, 2 cups makes me a bit wooo caffeine!! 3 cups+ makes me tense and keeps me awake!

redbull etc doesnt have the same effect though, just kind of a wooo for ten min then sleepy times.

As an electronic cigarette user I often have to remind people of this when they say to me "But your still using nicotine, that's bad".

Because caffeine is so wildly used some people don't consider it a 'drug' and can't get their head around the fact that nicotine (on it's own and not via the tar and carbon monoxide you get in normal fags) is not more dangerous, they're bot jut stimulants.
 
Early morning coffee always keeps me regular :)

Drink tea all throughout the day, usually about 7 pints worth I'd say.

Not Caffeine at night, just booze :)
 
Don't drink coffee or tea, rarely drink normal coke, so not sure I actually get much caffeine in me.
