What effect does coffee and caffeine have on you?

If you get bored of hot water try some of these some are quite nice, and no caffeine ;)

I've never been a big fan of fruity tea but I'm willing to give it another chance. Thanks for the link. :)

lol, what's comforting about hot water? :D Bonkers!

:D it's more the hot part that's comforting, it also means I still get a drink when someone does a round in the office. It's all mind games but it seems to be working.

I get through around 2L of coca cola a day, caffeine doesn't seem to effect me like it used to as a child. I think i am addicted to Coca Cola though...

Its worrying because my blood sugar levels are 5.8 after 4 hours after a meal, should be in the range of 4-4.9 tbh...

Dont like coffee, and having a can of redbull doesnt really do anything either. Did a full night on vodka redbulls though and never felt so ill in my life, and didnt sleep all night, so in large doses it does what i suppose its "supposed" to do

I drink way too much, but I do now drink decaf coffee from about 1pm on, and that seems to help me sleep better.

Still like to start the day with 5 or 6 strong coffees though!

On the bright side it's also a wonderful appetite suppressant, when I cut out the caffeine, my weight goes up.

Need a decent cup of tea in throbbing with breakfast to get me going. If I don't have it I'll have a headache after a few hours. Again, need one after work as well. Managed to come down to only 2 cups per day form around 4 or 5 though.

I love coffee. Caffeine is awesome, and I feel sorry for people who it makes ill - seriously, you are missing out :(

I don't go mad on it at all, in fact there are probably more days I don't drink coffee than I do. It's not something I actively think of most of the time, normally a case of "Do you want a coffee Rich?" YES I DO ACTUALLY! YAY! Rather than "I just woke up, better get a coffee :|" which would be strange.

Doesn't affect my sleep at all because I'm not an idiot and I don't drink it in the evening much really, hardly ever. The time I have done it it still hasn't affected my sleep... but I put that down to me being able to sleep through literally anything.

Not as much as I'd like..... I drink a lot of coffee, of various varieties, strengths and styles... I can drink esspresso after a late meal and still sleep no problem.

I do really enjoy coffee - though really should try and cut back re: caffeine not being too good for you.

I'm tolerant of all stimulants however - not much really spikes me.

I know people that can't drink a coffee after lunch without it affecting their sleep and an early morning coffee sends them for a no.2 within 15 mins!

I used to drink a few cups of instant per day, while I was at uni I found I was having a few filter coffees per day from Starbucks in the final few weeks. Now im down to 1-2 instant a day, maybe a latte instead of filter as its a calmer coffee.

Drinks with lots of caffeine in give me a really bad stomach. Borderline explosive.

Took me quite a while to figure out what was causing it as I've never been a big coffee drinker but do enjoy proper coffee from a coffee shop. I now have decaff and have no stomach upset.

I'm fairly sure I've developed a tolerance (or possibly a dependency) to it now, it just doesn't perk me like it used to. Some days I can't thin straight at work if I haven't had an energy drink, which is pretty bad really.
