And everytime you've said you'll "stick to branded stuff" (what does that even mean btw? Everything is branded) you've been told that the brands you have chosen are a waste of money average protein with fancy packaging designed to lure in the suggestible types :p

Whatever floats your boat, but it's a bit daft (imo) to be bragging about your latest delivery of stuff that you've been told is a waste of money :p

I fail to see this; i have just dummy ordered the same from myprotein and slightly cheaper (£4.00 quid diff with unflavored products). !!!!

BCAA Plus
Amount: 90 Tablets

£9.99

Creapure®
£7.99

L Carnitine
Amount: 90 Tablets
£7.99

Milk Protein Smooth
Container: Pouch
Amount: 1Kg
Flavour: Unflavoured

£13.99

Omega 3
Container: Pot
Amount: 90 Capsules
Flavour: Unflavoured

£4.99

True Whey
Amount: 5lb
Flavour: Choc
£33.49

Zinc and Magnesium
£8.99

Total: £87.43 + Greande 28.99 = £116.42

*granted creapure is 250g and i only have 100g but everything else is the same, if anything unflavoured. The stack above was £120 it included Grenade. £3.58 saving, no doubt if i had picked flavoured product this was be equal

Reflex :X

Well known to use the cheapest source of protein (crushed up animal bone cartilage etc) in their products. Horrible supplement company, ridiculous prices for inferior quality

Dam :( did not know that, i normally use ON but fancied giving Reflex a chance as heard some good stuff.

To be fair mate, it's fine being loyal to a brand, don't get me wrong. It's easier buying it all from one place than shopping all over

But Reflex are poor, purely because of the quality of the products against the price. People who say protein is protein, that's fair enough for most, but when you're as dedicated and as goal orientated as you are mate, getting the best protein and the best ingredients is crucial

And normally I'd say "and spending that extra bit to get them is important", but you're already spending that extra bit, just not getting the ingredients to show for it.

It's fine though, end of the day, it's not going to kill you that stuff or hinder your goals using one batch, but just next time, use a better brand, your money will go a lot further

I'd recommend ON, USN or CNP if you have to use brands :)

Out of interest Steeds, what would you go for? If you was in Kai's shoes? Or for your own personal preference for that matter

I just stick to Myprotein for protein as it's the best value. And then CNP Pro Recover for my post workout

And they're the only supps I use

But if I did have to get more, then I suggested some brands above, ON, USN or CNP

I have heard some great stuff about CNP Pro Petide, its just stupidly expensive.

What "fillers" are we talking about here? :p If you mean protein content please tell me how you know your expensive branded stuff has a more reliable protein content than MP? For all you know it could be lower.

In reality we don't know the protein content for any protein is accurate because there is no third party lab testing them all.

Either way its twice as expensive as MP stuff and i'm sure the flavoured ones will taste no difference.

see above £3.50 difference hardly double?? -

Re quality etc, i get the feeling, shoot me down if wrong granted protein may well be protein but an example

e.g. Smartprice, Tesco Value - yes the product is perfectly fine and in some cases the cheaper the product actually tastes better. But in some cases fillers are used rusk etc to fill it out with meat content to compete with more expensive products that contain prehaps higher % meat content etc.. might be stupid example but this is kinda how i see the supplement industry. This is against certain products, e.g. omega 3 is omega3 etc. regardless price.

Problem with your analogy is that ingredients need to be listed for food. So if whey was bulked out if would be listed. Most reputable suppliers of supplements have them tested and certified against what they are advertising.

Agree, to certain extent but certain products i and most people on this forum will not know what every single listing in the product list does in that particular product (also does it have scientic research behind it to be benefical) I know companies like Reflex, ON, say they spent millions on R&D etc (may not be true) but i fail seeing people like myprotein having the funds to handle this sort of development. With that in mind do they put ingredients in there 1. because it's cheaper alternative or 2. it there to fill the product out? 3. Simlply mimic the bigger companies based on ingredients list?

That's why buying from places like MP is good, because you can just buy whey which contains just that single ingredient. The quality of which is backed up with a certification.

When I look at the list of ingredients for the branded stuff it's a whole different story. If you want protein then buy it in a pure form :)

You priced up vs true whey for some reason. I was comparing to impact which is half the price even for flavoured.

I think you might be underestimating the size of MP as a business :p I'm not quite sure what you're saying there. Generally MPs protein is what it says on the tin, it's protein. Your reflux stuff is full of BCAAs and other ingredients which are what i would call "fillers" which means they can charge an extortionate price for having it all in one. When infact you can buy 5kg of (unflavoured) impact whey along with some omega3 and a bag of creatine for the same price as just your 2.25kg of whey. If you compare it to you buying 5kg of that whey you can get 5kg of flavoured impact, and BCAAs and creatine for the same price!

Just compare the ingredients of reflex instant whey delux (£41)

Preferentially selected protein blend (Whey Protein (Ultra filtered Whey Protein Concentrate, Cross Flow Micro Filtered Whey Protein Isolate), Muscle Drive (Peptide Bonded Glutamine (derived from wheat protein) Hydrolysed Whey Protein (degree of hydrolysis 30%), Milk Protein, Natural Colouring (Alkalized Cocoa Powder), Thickener (Carboxymethyl Cellulose), Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin), Flavouring, Digezyme Enzyme Complex (Amylase, Protease, Cellulase, Lactase, Lipase), Artificial Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Sucralose), Lactospore Probiotics (Bacillus Coagulans).

With unflavoured whey (£26)

Undenatured Whey Protein Concentrate

Has anyone used Good Oil before?
I'm thinking about making an evening meal of fried chicken breast along with fried onions, and green and yellow peppers - should be ok using that oil?
