Hopefully this wont fall on its face :)
I invite you to share a song that no matter how many times you have heard it or no matter what anyone else thinks of it. what is that song that defines your youth to yourself?

To me its Blur - Country House

Released in my last year at school, the year before i was due to move away saying bye to friends that would wait until the likes of Facebook to reunite us.
This song reminds me of the nights leading up to our exams wasting away getting drunk on white lightning in the local park under a ww2 cenotaph (something we never desecrated, something i hope the youth of today can share). Many a Friday nights were spent in this park where a big group of us would congregate and just get drunk i dont remember any fighting, quite an achievement for a poor Lancashire town.

The The - Infected, the whole album was the soundtrack to my first college year, new people, new clothes, a sense of growing up at last and creating my own identity.

The title track just takes me back to days there like it was yesterday, in a lot of ways that one year made me who i am and that song feels like a part of me.

I guess this song holds the most memories and very appropriately named, reminds me of the last summer of being care free, happy, without the burdons of life, partying non stop, we had all just got our licences and cars, going to watch rallies every other weekend, track days, just generally ******* around and making the most of the time we had.

The song that sticks with me from when I was at school is

The funny thing is that I don't like Green Day, I first heard this song at my year 11 prom without knowing who it was by, liked it, and only found the artist when I went hunting for it several years later. The sound track from GTA Vice City also has a lot of memories from school attached to it.

I was 15 in 1992 when this came out, got into rave music and this was played a hell of a lot at different parties, I was quite tall for my age so used to get sent to buy the bottles of Diamond white or thunderbirds, good times.

Cigarettes & Alcohol by Oasis. Remember hearing it on the ITV Chart show and thinking "wow!". Bought the album after hearing that song just the once. Then "Britpop" happened. Brilliant times.

I was such a Blink fan boi when i was a teen, i still like the band to this day, but not as much as i did back then.

Their album Dude Ranch, which is their best album, and it will never get old.

This song pretty much defined my teen hood, and some of my friends to.

Snoop Dogg - Gin "n" juice

Mac 10 + Tha Dogg pound - Nuthin but the cavi hit

Tha Dogg pond - What would u do?

this will always remind me of being 18, having a new girlfriend... getting hammered every weekend, riding my 10 speed everywhere even when it was snowing.... just fun times :)

It's got to be this:

I truly loved this song the first ever time I heard it way back in 1984. I was a massive fan of FGTH and this will always remind me of the family holiday in Cornwall that summer of 1984. The weather was hot the entire fortnight, we'd be surfing all day and then would head into St Ives in the evening and as you wandered around, without word of a lie, you'd hear this song belting out of every bar in town. I was 15 later that year, so I wasn't old enough to drink, but I remember one of the bars having a video jukebox and watching the video to this from the doorway.

Just an epic track, and one that I love just as much 28 years later as I did back then.
