Ouch!! That better not happen to the 888rc2x's I've just bought! We're they insured?

Standard royal mail so I don't think so, but it didn't help that they were a really **** cast (lots of tiny air pockets you can see where it's snapped). Also as it's in royal mail t's and c's that it's our responsibility to package them appropriately, we're replacing them anyway (with newer lowers as I think those were 2006's which aren't available any more).

The box was almost completely crushed when we got it back and no amount of bubble wrap would have protected it from whatever landed on it. But it's our word vs theirs and getting money out of RM in incidents like this is like getting blood out of a stone so we're footing it for the customers sake.

Mojo is it not? Can't remember if I've read where it was before.

I'd be gutted if they were my forks :(

I love couriers who play football with boxes, they cost Kona two zing supreme framesets due to damage.

Ahh, didn't realise you were in a shop (I assume?) I have some 66's of the same vintage, the 888's are 08 though.

TF Tuned Shox :)

Although irritatingly we do have to send stuff to mojo because they refuse to sell any spare parts or seals.

To be fair, this is the first time this has happened with damage in transit so I guess it was the combination of product quality as well as rough handling.

Saying that, almost the same thing happened with a pair of rebas when removing some bushes. Another technician gave the lowers a whack and a big chunk of the crown broke off. As you'd expect a replacement pair was quickly sourced :p

These things just happen unfortunately!

So whats Coed-Y-Brenin like? Found a campsite right next to the place, so should make a good weekend.
Excellent one of the better more varied Trail centres. Just a bit family oriented due to the GoApe and park...

Plenty of riding and some great singletrack!

I wasn't overly impressed with Coed-Y-Brenin, although I only had time to ride the MBR trail.

I'd give them all a go if you have time, but I think I felt let down by Brenin being the hyped "must-go" place in Wales, yet when I got to this 'MTB mecca' I was met with significant amounts of fire road climbing....

After Glentress's excellent climbs, Brenin looked a bit like the ginger step-child in the corner.

Hope you enjoy it though, the trails certainly were enjoyable - just that the distance is so far from me that I won't be going back in a hurry - try and get a trip over to Coed-Y-Llandegla if you get time, I MUCH preferred the trails there!

Its a crime you've never been to Gisburn if it's only an hour away! Some hate it as its quite pedally, but there's a huge mix of terrain and it has a natural feel to it. Make sure you find the hope line, its like a mini spooky wood.

Somehow I broke the roc loc adjuster on my Giro Xar helmet this evening and I'm having a nightmare trying to get in contact with any sort of customer service department. The best I can find for a contact is this email address: [email protected] but it keeps bouncing back with this message: The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown (state 13).

Can anybody tell me what it means or would anybody else mind testing the address any letting me know if it is my or their end? Alternatively anybody know where I might pick up a replacement?

Madison are uk suppliers of Giro, try contacting them.

I crashed and wrecked a Bell helmet (madison are bell suppliers also) and had no trouble sorting out a crash replacement through them.

that you're right! maybe i had RST and went to rockshocks then, the ones i had where called judy and where red, didnt quite go with the bike being orange but all my shop had at the time around £100ish, got em for an xmas present.

My memory is pretty rusbbish lol

I will have to remember that, going to head up there as soon as my knee if ready for biking again and my chain arrives from CRC. Already found the little car park apparently right at the start of the trails.

Bloody shimano brakes..my rear XT M775 caliper is leaking from one of the pistons and it cant be repaired it would appear, as shimano in their wisdom dont supply any sort of kit to service them, plus a one piece design is stupid, So, looking around at brakes and my god they appear to be expensive now, struggling to find a new caliper on its own as there is nothing wrong with the rest of the system :( So looks like a new complete set is on the cards.
I dont appear to be having much luck :( So what would you guys recommend in terms of brakes my only criteria, no Avid brakes, dont like them.

Hope Tech, you will never have a problem finding parts for them, if you ever need them. The Tech Race look good and light-ish weight.
Im shocked you cant get spares for the shimano though, Hope you can get everything.

Its a bit odd, but they are a one piece caliper so im not sure how much you would be able to do them anyway, Checked out the brakes you guys mentioned, and by god they are expensive but safety first and all that..

Anyone got any opinions on the new Shimano stuff, such as the SLX m666 and XT M785 they look and sound like a similar design to my XT M755s which i love.
