Yes it would have been nice to have had a card slot but for me a rear acing camera is pointless. I've taken 2 photos with my iPad and they were to test it. I use my phone for that.

Have to agree. I have never understood why any tablet would bother with a rear facing camera, it's a waste of space especially so when the tablet isn't rocking a 3G SIM.

Everyone has a phone camera, they are normally better quality, easier to handle and they are always network connected. I know you could argue that a number of apps could make use of the rear facing camera, but the same argument stands in my mind - why would you use a huge tablet when you can use your phone? Horses for courses i suppose.

Agree about the SD slot though, although i would have settled for 32GB option with full USB OTG support natively and would be happy to pay extra.

Agree - not having a rear facing camera is actually a selling point to me. I have a camera / phone for taking pictures.. who the hell wants to use an unwieldy tablet for such things? :p

After placing my order for one of these at the weekend ive been searching quite a bit for more info on them. So far all ive read on the Nexus 7 is positive until this...

...at Google's I/O 2012 conference in downtown San Francisco when the company announced its mildly anticipated tablet, the Nexus 7.

You could hear the collective yawn from blocks away...

I thought it was pretty funny and in no way has it changed my decision in getting one. Any thoughts about this?

Google will be fortunate if it sells 10 times the 6,000 tablets Google gave away to developers at I/O.

I get the feeling he is going to look like a massive tool very very quickly.

Seem as it's getting it straight away in July I'm pretty sure it will. It runs ICS like a dream already anyway.

i will swap the lack of sd for something thin and sexy with a quad core.. sold my xoom on ebay after 2 weeks...... slow as a dog

99.9% going to buy this :) recently got a Chinese 7" tab and I like the size etc. I'm sure quad core and the IPS HD screen will be awesome but I'm mostly looking forward to custom roms, wont take long before we see AOKP/CM9.

i just send google another email saying dont cancel my order, i can't see the shops getting this pushed out till Aug, the uptake has been massive, surely googleplay orders will come first,
