So, this has just been announced. Made by ASUS:

8GB Nexus 7 will be priced at £159, while the 16GB model will cost £199. Both models should be shipping within two to three weeks.

No microSD? That's a shame if so, was considering this as a video device but even 16Gb isn't quite enough to really fit a couple of seasons on.

just convinced the parents to ebay their hp touchpad and buy google tablet :)

Why not dual boot the Touchpad?

WebOS poos over Android - I only boot into Android if I need a specific app - otherwise it's WebOS all the way.

Back on topic - it's not suprising Google fancy a go at this - HP showed there is a market for a mid spec, low priced tablet last year.

Well US Conversion at the Mastercard rate today (What I would use to buy it abroad with no fees) is 1.563101 so I work it out as...

$199 = £127.31
$249 = £159.30

So I will probably pick one up on my trip to Las Vegas in August...depending on how well I do! Certainly good prices at a conversion and if the rate gets better for me in the next month even more reason to pick it up!

This is a bargain - an android tablet that is very powerful and should be super smooth with jelly bean. And £159?!? As soon as the checkout works I'm ordering one.
