A lot from column B, not as much as I'd have liked from column ADid the 'Rooney affair' lead to significant investment in the club, though... or just a large wage bump for Rooney?

So hands up who would give the stamp of approval for their club to sign RVP?
I'd take him in a second, him and Rooney up front = drool. Arsenal will never sell to us though.
I doubt that, his quality has been there for all to see pretty much since he arrived. A lesser player maybe, but that shows loyalty is only given to players good enough to warrant it. Don't think Franny Jeffers will see Arsenal as a loyal clubHe's given Arsenal a very good last 18 months and I can totally see 'his' point of view of wanting to look back at his career and have some medals to show for it but it's still not much loyalty shown to The Arsenal who if they were another club would have chopped him in years ago because of his fitness record.
If you were RVP and seeing Podolski and Giroud sign for Arsenal, wouldn't you think its clear its time to move on? Wenger wasn't exactly suttle with his new signings. How would they fit into the squad with RVP still there.
Would be interesting to see RVP play for Real Madrid and actually win something and maybe see Benzema or Higuin play in England.
In which case all Arsenal have to do is offer him a shedload of money and all will be well with the world again, yes?I met with David Gill last week and he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad.
I then told him that I would not be signing a new contract.
I was interested to hear what Sir Alex had to say yesterday and surprised by some of it.
It is absolutely true, as he said, that my agent and I have had a number of meetings with the club about a new contract. During those meetings in August I asked for assurances about the continued ability of the club to attract the top players in the world.
I have never had anything but complete respect for MUFC. How could I not have done, given its fantastic history and especially the last six years in which I have been lucky to play a part?
For me its all about winning trophies - as the club has always done under Sir Alex. Because of that I think the questions I was asking were justified.
Despite recent difficulties, I know I will always owe Sir Alex Ferguson a huge debt. He is a great manager and mentor who has helped and supported me from the day he signed me from Everton when I was only 18.
For Manchester United's sake I wish he could go on forever because he's a one-off and a genius."
"Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward."
So hands up who would give the stamp of approval for their club to sign RVP?
