Well if I delid it then I spent £15 for nothing didn't I?
Well no if you read eyetrips post on the matter of intel insurance you would see it does not cover physical mods. And my chip is horrible.. I did say safest way to do it for a reason >.> as in I don't want to destroy my VRM's etc.
but the Insurance covers everything Overclocking. You would be selling a chip to run at its design specs etc and the person buying it would be doing so for their own reasons /ambitions.
But sit back and have a think about it...
You are only around 200mhz slower than what would be considered to be a good clocker and in real life performance terms that means so very little.
I think that you are chasing something of little real importance and the cost is too great with no guarantees.

I dont think Ivy Bridge should be so hot. Agree?

True. I might try selling it but I would want to sell it for at least what I bought it at (I got it at a reduced price on OcUk) so might have to settle for £30-50 under what I bought it for maybe? I would need a stop gap as well guess I could grab a pentium or something if I try to sell it.
So you would do all of that for the sake of around 200mhz which in real term usage would mean so very little..?
If it is important to you then go for it but remember the risks and if you think that yours is the worse chip possible you might end up being very disappointed with what you but next. It is often the luck of the draw.

People do far worse and spend far more for far less in the enthusiast market
Ollie, if money is not a problem, then go for it. (selling I mean)
Otherwise, stick with the 4.5 for now, and maybe in a couple of years flip it when it's not worth as much - and getting 2nd hand replacement won't cost too much
If the heat kills it in mean time, well, you got the normal warranty and insurance, so you should be good to go...
And having said all that, there is still this nagging desire to flip the lid on mine
I do know it's silly in my case, but it is still tempting.
