And had no idea just how hard it would be. It's not just the mental need for a cigarette, it's also the fact that my body just feels like ****. It's all tingly and stuff, and I'm not sure why.

But hey ho, at least I've quit now, which should save me quite a bit of money, and obviously improve my health.

TL;DR I'm a whiney little *****, but hell it feels good to know that I've quit :)

Aye, keep it up and make sure you put away the money you'd have spent on tobacco. You'll see how much you save!

You still haven't got 30p for Rizlas?

I think its something like 48 hours for the worst of the physical cravings, bit like caffeine detoxing.

The mental ones will never go away in some situations. My old chap had to immediately get up from the table as soon as he'd finished eating as when he smoked he would have lit up after finishing his meal.

If you have a smartphone, get the Nicorette app to track your progress. I still check mine when I feel the urge for a cigarette (which btw never goes).

I used to smoke about 9-10/day. My stats currently are:
  • 295 days smoke free
  • 2,698 cigarettes not smoked (24,282 puff equivalent)
  • £809.40 saved (not counting mints) :)
Finally, good luck with it!

Might have to do that, thanks :)

You didn't switch to an e-cig, did you? ;)

Yeah, I wondered why the guy sitting next to me on the bus was getting all agitated...

:p no I went cold turkey :)

For some reason you have inspired me, going to try after current batch of tobacco is used up.:D

Seems like a bad idea imo.

Either you want to quit and you're willing to chuck the cigs/tobacco right now or you're not.

"i'll quit after x or in y amount of time" just seems a cop out to me.

Good luck if you do though.

To be fair to him, that's what I did :)
