Broke DL PB tonight - 190kg. \o/

1st rep was great. Felt really comfortable.
2nd rep felt as good as 1st, but something has twinged just above my left buttock, right next to spine - oddly on the way down. Though damage could have been done on the lift and it just didn't tweak until release of tension.

Think I have pulled either the sacro-spinalis or multifidus. Either way, it (the area) met Mr Hockey Ball for 15mins. Have now rubbed some Kwan Loong oil into it and going to rest up. Physio tomorrow (was already booked anyway) so that'll be some more grumbling from him as he will add yet another problem area to my list :p I'm expecting to be in a lot of pain for that.

It's times like this I wish I had recorded it so I could see what I did wrong. For it to be one side I must have hitched my left leg or shifted balance some how.

According to the world of Ultra_E you should just man up, skip the physio and lift 200 tomorrow ;)

On a more serious note, I hope it's nothing serious. Let us know how you get on.

It's certainly easier doing it that way. You get a stretch reflex at the bottom which allows you to almost negate the bottom part of the deadlift.

Just saying, you should try doing it the other way to really feel like you've been destroyed.

I do plenty of normal reps lol, there's enough volume for both types of lifting :D

You should be OK Jestar, that area can get a little fried when doing deads when things aren't as strict/tight.

Back to the doctors next week. Been squatting for a month and my back, thigh and knee pain is worse than ever. It's now uncomfortable 24/7 rather than just at the gym :(

Ah that's **** :( at least your chest work is moving on wnough to keep you interested :)

Nice. Sounds a little like where mine is....

Top of the glute / lower back. Hard to explain

Anyway, I hope not for your sake!

Bah! Hope it sorts itself out chap

If you don't like the man just ignore him or stick him on your ignore list :p

Why do you continue to post here then?

Your view seems to be that you have to shove needles in your bum and not bother with perfecting form, anything less and you are a weak pansy who shouldn't bother :p

most of the experienced lifters dont seem to mind me one bit, most actually enjoy a bit of the antithesis. Youve always had a problem with my posts but thats because they basically target you. So i can accept that but it isnt like im wrong i just come at things from a different perspective, and for the record no i dont think steroid use excuses form, christ i believe the opposite.

I don't dislike you at all. I just think you seem to judge people unfairly. Not everyone is perfect. I don't feel that your posts are aimed at me, I think I'm making reasonable progress (all things considered) and I couldn't give a monkeys if you think otherwise to be honest. None of your posts upset me in the slightest.

If you didn't pick up the sarcasm in my posts then perhaps I should state that I use smilies to indicate as such.

I'm not going to ignore your posts, I just find it a bit odd that the majority of your posts seem to push this place down rather than actually help those people you are moaning about to actually improve themselves. People like Ice, FF, to name just a couple of people, are always willing to share their knowledge rather than put people down.

Anyway, enough moaning, I won't say any more on the matter.

Hope it gets sorted mate. Must be really frustrating.

Hip flexor strain or labral tear both produce similar symptoms to mine although most people say their problems went away after a month or so. Mine got slightly better while I took time off but got immediately worse as soon as I started squatting again.

Just want it sorted so I can try and get my squat and deadlift back to where they were 5 years ago, for the third time :(

I've had to stop Squats all together mate, not done one back squat for a good 3 months now!

Split squats for me :o

Oh :( did you fail mid set or did it kick in afterwards?
Felt it get worse while I was still on 5/3/1 but put it down to the amount of sets and reps I was doing rather than a physical problem.

Ever since I've had a dull ache in my lower back, an occasional sharp pain in either my right hip or groin and permanent pain through the middle of my thigh down to the inside of my knee :(
