Because they want people to keep buying at normal prices, announcing a sale early will lead to a drop off in overall sales as people wait to see if what they're after will be discounted in the forthcoming sale.
 
I am hoping for ARMA2 Operation Arrowhead to be on sale so I can play DayZ. Or sell a few more items on Diablo3 so I can buy it full price via paypal :p
 
I normally buy whatever games OcUK seem to be going crazy about, then never play them. But the further you can scroll on your Steam library, the longer your penis is.

you can buy combined operations (armaII and OA) this from the publishers website for £14.99 and it gives you a steam code, won't get cheaper than that

Any idea what the chances are of Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion coming up in the sale? Really got a yearning for a bit of space opera.

That is exactly how I am feeling. I personally think that there is a very good chance it will be on sale. So I am staying put :)

A quick google shows that the Stardock publisher pack, including Rebellion, got uploaded, so hopefully we will see it.

That's just the indie bundles! Calmes-toi! There will also be publisher packs and individual titles, I'm sure.
