Icecold/Dom/Other powerlifting folks, whats your opinion on conventional/sumo deadlifts? I've plateud for a long time on conventional and thinking of changing to sumo. This is mainly down to my t-rex arms and long legs, I'm in a real deep position at the bottom of a normal dead it almost feels like a deficit deadlift.

explain what exactly is wrong with steak and beans?

And to be honest with you, my ex council house is treating me fine, 3 times the plot size of any new build in town, and a damn site better made ;)

haha i wasnt calling you poor if thats what you mean, its just sacrilege to put beans with steak youll be putting ketchup on it next.

Hopefully after a while off due to financial probs and other rl stuff i get back into the gym sometime this week.

Just need to go about signing up for the "local" dw club when i get paid in a couple of days :o .

Hmmm

I bet you aren't sitting your arse down on to your ankles with the goblets either.

Hitting parallel is absolutely essential, and if you don't consistently do it I suspect you think that you're hitting parallel when you aren't. You're only cheating yourself!

I think with the goblets I am going all the way down - but it gets a real struggle to get back up again on the last few reps of each set.

Legs really hurt today and squat legs get worse for me as the day goes on!

Arrggh, stupid MP bag split at the top today.

Don't have any tub to put it in to either

The stupid moment when your family visit and see you have a stack of supplements and proceed to tell your folks that supplements are addictive like drugs and that it'll lead to me taking harder drugs later on.

Spur an argument from ignorance.

Apparently Whey, Powedered oats, fish oils, amino acids and multi-vitamins are addictive drugs :/

Sad times eh?
I had to explain what my foam roller and lacrosse balls did the other day :o

Me and Wills have been drinking excessive amounts and eating **** all weekend, we're doing the gym rats proud boys

Will be turning up the meet with a 50" waist at this rate

:D:D:D

My new favourite shoulder exercise: Z Presses.
If they are good enough for the strongest shoulders in the world then they are good enough for me!

With a Oly bar, axle or log, its pure shoulders :D

Hell no! Any condiment on a steak is scareligious!!!!! :mad:

haha totally agreed, i think you missed the sarcasm in my post :D

Indeed, no need to mask the flavour of lovely steak!
love the taste of the steak on its own, never have it with any sauce, even when i go to a restaurant i ask for the sauce to be put in a side dish so i can still have the sauce but keep it off the steak

Steak = Win
Beans = Win

Indeed Devlis,

Steak = Win
Beans = Win

Hence i had both for my dinner last night, everyone is just assuming i ate them together.

When i have steak i only have mouthfuls of the steak on its own and really enjoy the meat :)

Just cause there on the same plate doesnt mean they are in my mouth at the same time..

It's happened to me as well, on 3 bags so far.
The zip lock bit tears off the inside of the bag, meaning the ziplock is still "closed" as in stuck to each other but it's ripped off the bag leaving it open.

Happened to my whey and taurine, and now happening to my oats.

I threw the whey into an old tub and the taurine into a pasta tub, no place to put the oats though :(

Um? 5'10 on a good day!

Ta. Just ordering the coffin ;)

Take a video from the side so that you can KNOW. I've been suggesting this to you for weeks :p

Every rep has to go to parallel, otherwise you haven't completed the set.

Those are extremely risky!

1) Your arse is not designed to be a load bearing surface.

2) If you can't get 90 degrees of hip flexion then you're going to be rounding your lower back at lockout. Some people on Sugden were posting about this exercise bothering their backs, this is why.

3) At no point do you ever put something over your head in strongman without having to use your legs for support, so this exercise is an accessory movement. You're left with a lot of risk for something that has quite an isolated benefit to your main lift.

I don't want you to break! :)

Try it, but you might find your short arms limit you with sumo too. You also have to have really good adductor flexibility to get down into the start position. Be really careful to ensure a stable lumbar (get a video or have someone watch, at the very least check in a mirror on light sets) because there is a good chance of putting your back into a bad position.

However, we should also be looking at why your conventional deads are stagnating. How have you been training them?
