***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I'm worried that this might actually be a serious question.

It is a serious question.

I been very careful with the phone, yet the back is still scratched. I didn't have a case for my Galaxy Nexus for months and it was as good as new.

There was a guy on youtube do a scratch test on the back, with a set of keys and it performed well. But from a few days of careful use this doesn't seem the case.

So I find it disappointing that this phone has to be in a case all the time or it will look battered in no time.

Doesn't look like any scratches to me on mine, I do have a ROCK case though.

As with all plastic glossy surfaces on all devices, some surface marring/hairline scratching will occur over time. Mostly only visible under direct sunlight or strong lighting though.

So no bother.

Just read on a store site, here in Brazil, that says 65% of the people who viewed the Blue S3 bought it as opposed to 17% for the white.

Blue seems to be the global choice :D no wonder why it´s so hard to find them in stores.

Hey guys... dunno if you might be able to help me, basically... I just got the Samsung Galaxy S III... and I'm wanting to change the amount of time it takes before it goes to answer phone. Currently my phone rings for about 20 seconds and then goes straight to answer phone--I was wondering if there's any option on the phone to allow for a longer ring period? I can't see one, and I'm not sure I can ring up the Voicemail service of my carrier and utilise an option that'll be of use to me...

Any thoughts?

Cheers in advance!

I dont think this is a phone option , its a carrier option but i could be wrong

google the number for manually turning off the VM via the handset

ICS+ browser all of a sudden keeps forgetting my login info and I have to re-login to every site I visit

Anyone? This is driving me bonkers, It was fine untill a few days ago and I havnt changed anything

Have you set the browser to incognito mode? - I'm just guessing but that probably doesn't remember passwords.

You can use the following codes to control the delay from 5 to 30 seconds on any GSM phone:

To get the current call forwarding status, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.
Write down the 10-digit number(ignore the +1), this is the phone number that your calls are currently being diverted to.
Enter **61*[number]*11*[delay]#[SEND] into your phone using the phone number (numbers only) as reported by the status & the delay can be set to (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30) seconds.
To verify that the settings are correct, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.

Do this in the standard dialer, send = call button.

Well turns out my sister is looking to buy an s3 when she upgrades shortly. Has offered to get the blue one to swap with my white if i have decided to change to the blue.

Liking the white now, but guess i may have to go back into the shops and see the colour of the blue ones since they were recalled. Nice to have the option.

On that note, this phone has a 3 logo when starting up, but no branding on the case. Will it be carrier unlocked as shes on tmobile?

Well I've had mine for nearly a day and I love it!

Having to get used to it, and think of what apps I want don't want, and what I want don't want on the home screens... however it's so lovely to use, and offers so much more than the iphone in terms of doing what I want!

I've synced everything up, all my contacts are there... it's just working beautifully!

Now to find some apps!

Slowly getting used to the size of mine, thankfully adding a rock case (albeit cheap china copy) hasnt added much at all size wise but it does make the phone feel a lot safe and far less slippy.

I have the blue one, what was the recall about?
Also what was the shortcode for seeing if it was locked again just tried what I thought it was to be given nothing.

I've just had a syatem update this morning, got my phone from Tesco Mobile, O2 package and it states its running on...

And the back can be easily replaced.
I think the power on/off button will be the first part to show signs of wear.
I find myself pushing it with my nail because it’s a bit awkward and stiff

Anyone know if there is a way to archive text messages? I like to keep the ones from my kids but am an Android no0b and can’t see an easy way to save them.

SMS Backup+ backs up to a GMail label.

The power button will be forever fine. The S2 power button was the same.
