Not sure if this will work but on the phone there is a setting to only show contacts with phone numbers.... This may only be a local fix for the phone tho.... Try this?

Or in Settings > Motion, you can enable quick camera access. It works by rotating the screen whilst pressing it :)

Doesn't work if you have pincode on which I need to for microsoft exchange.:(

ANybody know a way of getting round needing to enter a pin or password if using exchange?

I miss just doing a gesture to unlock the phone or having shortcuts on the lock screen.

some roms come with a hacked email apk that circumvents the security requirements, i think you can dl it on its own

however, if your phone gets stolen...

I was just about to post the same thing as well, because i use a pin code to unlock my SGS3, the shortcut to the camera doesnt work ie i still have to enter my pin code then it starts up the camera. ~If i disable the pin code security, it then works.
 
Can anyone recomend a good email app that supports:

  • Exchange + Hotmail + GMail + Misc POP3/IMAP
  • Sub folder synchronisation
  • Folder view - Preferably as the top view and not as a menu option - To show how many emails are in each folder and for easy navigation
  • A display to show how many unread emails you have in your current directory
  • Looks good/native

I can't find anything that can do that at the moment, I am coming from an iPhone and I thought that was bad but it blows the S3 out of the water for email support.

I have tried:

K9, Moxia and Touch Down + a few others I can't remember - all have issues and some are terrible.

I also have an S Planner issue that I have posted here (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18421911) if anyone has any ideas?

PS one feature I do not want is a "combined view" why do people want that over proper folder support? It seems stupid to me.
 
I'm on the Stock ROM, sometimes my wifi will disconnect and get stuck on 'connecting'. Turning off the wifi and turning it back on will solve the issue. Does anyone else have a similar problem? Not to worried about it because I assume it's a software issue?

I get issues with it going to sleep and it forgetting about a connection, or I get home/to work and it blindly ignores the fact it could connect.

It also suddenly goes quite for no reason, or only vibrates or constantly vibrates all when it's not set to, so I reboot a lot...good job it's quick at doing that!
 
Just out of interest, if one was to selotape over the moisture sensor behind the battery would it stop it from showing its been wet? Mines fine atm, just wondered if it would work in theory, just in case i do something stupid :p
 
I wouldn't risk it, it might even cause a small amount of moisture to build up underneath the selotape in hot conditions and trigger the sensor... :p
 
Guys I'm really not fond of touchwiz. I prefer htc's way 100x to this. Is there anything that I can do to get it closer to HTC?

Surely if it got wet the sellotape would far off anyway?
 
Just saw the black ink blobs on my screen, how annoying.

Luckily they hardly effect the phone at all apart from in the dark on a black screen, but I've been reading they're extremely common for these devices, so getting 1 without is unlikely to happen.
 
Ok guys this is not me being anal but I think my gs3 has a dodgy screen.

On pitch black backgrounds there are I'd say at a guess about 12 pixels that look dead. They are darker than the rest of the screen and definitely aren't normal.

Anyone else had this?
