MSI GTX 680 Lightning

Some food for thought.
My 7970 lightning has ASIC of 67.5%, max oc of 1207(not great for these, average about 1300 from what i have read) needs 1280mv for this.
Idle temps 32c, bf3 load 61
Heaven 1080 AA x 4, tess normal 2238,

So pretty similar.

Hoping for better under water.

I just need voltage control, and then water to cool the extra heat :D

Take anything you read about Afterburner 2.3.3 and what voltage you'll be able to use with truck load of salt, the guy writing Afterburner doesn't even have a card yet so has no way of programming voltage adjustment.

Looks like 2.3.3 could be pushed back to August if he doesn't get the card in time.

I've been refreshing that thread every so often, lol. I've got time to wait. Don't wanna be pushing too many volts through them on air while in SLI on a z68, lol.

All being well, I'll be ordering this card tomorrow :D

It's lovelaay!

I am desperate to see one of these under water and the volts @ 1.3ish. I am curious to know if these were released almost at full potential or with headroom for MUCH higher clocks.

tbh I don't think the clocks will be much higher. My standard volts ocs are lower than a few reference. I'm hoping (probably in vain) that that is because the card is designed with more voltage in mind, LOL.

If I can't get full cover blocks though I'm gonna be a sad puppy.

I know very little about watercooling (to the point of nothing if I am honest). These AquaGraFX GTX 680 Water Blocks seem good to me and the guy who left feedback on here highly rated it....I would imagine with his temps and your card, you could push more on volts (quite a bit more) and memory.

I would love to see you smash up them AMD cards on the heaven thread here :D (I am a NVIDIA fan)

Don't think the 7970's will be threatened TBH, the top 7970 is 11% ahead of the top 680 on the benchmark thread, its a big gap to be made up. Would be good to see these cards finally stretch their legs though, I wish afterburner 2.2.3 would hurry up:cool:

@ OptimaLnrg,

In Afterburner 2.2.2, do you see your core clock & memory clock shown as the listed specs or do you see +0 & +0, because I swear all the previous cards I've had have shown the current clock level & you slide it to whatever MHZ you want, but now all I see is +1,+2 etc etc....?

Is my card faulty or is yours the same?
