***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

If it isn't affecting all calls then it's probably not your phone.

Perhaps it's your mind playing tricks on you. :p

To be honest it doesn't really bother me much but I suspect it will as time goes on.

Their is certainly a rattle/vibrate sound every time someone speaks though.

To get it replaced or to not get it replaced? I don't want to have another phone that's probably got even more black dots and more 'faults'.

:o :o :o

You should work as a end user tester that finds as much wrong with a product as possible and lists all the faults down and then gives it back to the company to look at them and fix/improve and rinse and repeat, don't think there is anyone better for the job :p

Bets on what Tom-D will do:

Return to the 4s
Return the GS 3 and go through another 3 handsets
Return the Gs 3 and go through another 3 handsets and then after all that go back to the 4s
Live with it

I am sorry for all the **** taking btw, but it does entertain me these posts :D :p

Why can't phones be built perfect though? In my own experience it always seems like you have to take 'trade offs' with phones and hope you get one with only a minor fault. No 2 phones ever seem to be the same.

It took me 4 iPhone 4S handsets to get one I felt was 'perfect' and I still feel it is to this day.

I think I'll see how it goes, I have 28 days to go for a like-for-like exchange anyway. :)

They can't all be built perfectly because they're too popular. The demand is too high and they have to be manufactured quickly due to the rapid nature of the market.

Unfortunately that is how things are with tech. based stuff, nothing is ever perfect and never will be, always some fault.

There probably is something wrong with your current 4s, you just most likely haven't noticed it yet  :p

Trust me, I have checked over every single thing with the 4S. Many times. ;)

I guess I can call them tomorrow and see if they can send me a replacement out for Monday but I just don't like the risk of getting another phone that has a different fault and or many more faults. :/

Oh well it was brief but fun, I have now reached the stage where I can post about it without wanting to smash the keyboard
Went out for the England match after work with my mates, got absolutely trashed and ended up with no rucksack. It was under the table all night with everyone elses, but by 11pm, there were 3 bags missing, mine was one of them and my S3 was in it :mad:
Id put it in my bag as I thought with all the jumping around it would be safer, but 3 bags in one night - someone did well...
The pub has it on CCTV and it has been passed to the police, same guy, waited until the goals and quietly took the bags and passed them to another guy who left, but we are not expecting much, and Im covered on my home insurance, but with a 200 quid excess which means that I probably won't bother, so back to my atrix which feels very small and completely useless in comparison
Probably going to wait for jellybean now, unless the LG 4X is a reasonable price but it is going to be a long 5 months....

Have you tryed PLAN B

http://www.appbrain.com/app/plan-b/com.lookout.labs.planb

Plan B is your last resort to find your missing phone.

This is the first and only 'find my phone' app that you download AFTER you've already lost your phone.
Having Lookout on your phone is the best way to protect your phone and find it fast,
but use Plan B if you have already lost your phone and didn't have Lookout installed.

Thought I'd post here (as well as in the apps thread) as I find this almost amusing. I contacted Moonpig to ask when their Android app would be compatible with the SIII and got this respones -

Unfortunately at the moment the Samsung Galaxy SIII is not compatible with our ap. It is something we would like to work on but unfortunately certain changes need to be made to the actual handset before it is capable of running the ap.

I've asked for more detail as this is pretty big news if there's some kind of fault/issue with the SIII!

Lol...
