What speed do you download your STEAM games at?

Slap bang in the middle of the West Midlands mate, normally get anywhere between 7-10mb/s but now have 600kb/s spread across 6 downloads, 3 of which are at 0kb/s. This is beyond pathetic tbh.

200Kbps on a good day, when the servers are free and no one else is using my poxy lame net

Roll on when they bring England into the 21st century :/

1.8 to 2Megabytes/Second normally. Not tried anything during sale but lower speeds would be expected.

Over 90% lower? That's carried away, they should have prepared for this, it literally feels like they've done nothing at all except release the sale and sit back, knowing their servers won't cope. This isn't very Valvelike.

for some people. There obviously isnt a straight forward explanation when im downloading at 6mb from the same london steam sever that you are barely able to connect to. Just suck it up and let it download, it's not the end of the world if you cant play it right now is it?

Go into town and queue up with peasants in retail stores then

Side note, PC gaming is dead guys, no one tell you? :p

normally get around 1mb speeds, i generally switch location if the uk one is slow.

Hong Kong used to be an old fave but recently i just plump for somewhere a few timezones ahead who would be in the middle of the night

Quick switch to the London server is getting me 6.3mb/s on a 60mb connection.

EDIT: Just peaked at 7mb/s

Compared to the Manchester server - 3.4mb/s max to 7mb/s max.

Yes, and it isn't as straight forward as 'omg I can't play them right now'. I don't like having things in my life, no matter how trivial; dictated by luck. I had faster speeds before I spent money upgrading.
