I was throwing £10/haircut every 3 weeks or so before the light bulb went on. Because my hair grows so fast I thought I could afford to see if I could cut it myself.
Got the clippers and super-sharp haircut scissors & a big mirror on a stand.
Theres some great websites and vids out there that show you how to do this. And Im not talking "clippers set to zero & 30-second military buzz" here...Im talkin takin some off the sides, a little off the top, blending etc.
The trick is simple: overestimate by 2 to be absolutely safe. So if you think you need a grade 3 on top fit the grade 6 guard and have a go and take it down from there. If you are really brave (like I am now haha) use the unguarded clippers to precision-trim the sides and behind ears. Works great..just make sure your hand doesnt slip
The back is more tricky but again with practice its a breeze. You need strong lighting and if you can: get clippers where you can rotate the head 90 degrees. SO much easier.
I'll be honest: its a PIG the first few times ..but Ive been doing it for 4 months now and Ive gotten really quick - its all done in under 30mins and Im getting faster. First time I tried it...it took 2 hours
Anyways...more £ for games games games
Anyone else on here mastered the home cut then lol.
