The fact that it's a cross is the least important part, it's the fact it's 24ft tall and LIGHTS UP AND NIGHT.

I'd say that when you made the original post, more of the replies were on planning permission rather than "lolreligion"

I don't think anybody is offended by it, I'm certainly not. Just wouldn't want a glowing 24 foot tall anything dropping property value.

The fact that it's a cross is non issue and is just being used for anti religion bashers.

The fact that it's a 24ft high illuminated object is the potential problem and what the planners need to decide on.

That said, it's her land after all... and 24ft is about the height of a two storey house and many people illuminate them at Christmas without planning permission...

You could say that, but that doesn't mean I was not right in what I said, particularly as it was directly beneath one of the posts in question.

There were sufficient posts to suggest that the course of this thread is going to degenerate into another GD religion bullying fiasco so I am out.
