How big is the download for the core of Microsoft Flight? I've been looking for a good flight sim and think I might try it out, but i want to know if I can download the core game before the offer on the DLC stuff ends.

I know, he should buy it. It's all the games for £10, what more could you want? People need to stop being so cheap.

Nothing to do with being cheap, many people in this very thread have purchased items too soon that hasn't been on proper offer and then are annoyed when it comes down in price again. That pack has been £4.99 in a previous sale and will very likely be £4.99 again in this sale, its just a question of patience. If he holds out, he could get it for half price, if it doesn't come up he buys it on the last day and loses nothing. That is how you ensure you get the best deals.

Linking him to the very item he is interested in at the very price he already knows it is at, isn't helping at all.

Nothing to with being cheap.
Exactly, it's about value for money. If I pay a fiver for something I'm not sure about and only play it for an hour or two, I don't feel ripped off and the devs got a bit of money they wouldn't have had otherwise.

Some folk say "you can spend more than that on lunch!" Yes, well, they might, but I don't live in a world where money is so easy to come by. :-)

Essentially the Steam sales are a game in themselves, and that's the marketing genius behind this variety of offers, all running at the same time.

Just picked up Saints Row: The Third and Hard Reset.

So far:

Payday
Tropico 4 Bundle
Mafia II
Left 4 Dead 2 (x2)
Anno 2070
DiRT 2
Bioshock 2
Saints Row: The Third
Hard Reset

Ok, I've spent about 15 minutes with Flight and I like it. Silly, mission & achievement based missions, but they serve well as training missions and the sense of flight is good enough.

Running it on a 3GHz E8400 with a GTX260 and it looks & runs better than FSX ever did. To me anyway. Try the free starter, it's about a 2GB download.

Edit: bought the pack and am now having "the product key you have provided has already been registered" errors. Games for Windows Live, eh... who'd have expected problems? ;-) Not fussed though, it'll get sorted eventually... either I'll work out what I've done wrong or Steam will sort it out after the sales rush is over.

I do like the mission based tutorials though, even if they're a bit silly and after the second flight I got a "coconut bra" award. Did I say a *bit* silly? ;-)

Still only the Saints Row 3 franchise pack. Nothing really standing out so far for me. Hope NBA2K12 comes up but meh. Will keep voting just to get the badge :D

I really wish games would stop using games for windows live. I got the batman pack, which included a lot of DLC. I tried to play gotham city imposters and I had to ender 20 different CD keys into my games for windows live account , one for the game itself and one per DLC, and then after that it wanted me to create a Warner brothers ID. Why can't all games just use steam to manage their DLC, I've played steam games before where if I buy DLC, I just run the game and it's there ready to go, but with this I had to type in a key for each DLC and then download that DLC (even for little stuff that the client should already have for displaying other players using it).

what website is this on?
It's an old Raptr reward, you wouldn't be able to get it now as you have to fulfil certain conditions i.e be a member and have played certain shooters to a certain point.
Raptr is worth signing up to though as future rewards may be good.
