***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I bought a genuine Samsung car dock/cradle as recommended on here a few pages back.
This one.

It's OK but I have a couple of issues with it :
Every time I put the phone into the dock S-Voice starts. Can I stop it doing that?
On the cradle was a sticker saying "Visit the Android Market, search for Samsung Car Home and download free application for full functionality." But when I go to Google Play I can't find any app that is compatible for the S3. Any suggestions for a good car dock app?
Also, when the phone is in the dock in portrait orientation the camera is useless cos its field of view is blocked by the mount itself. (I only mention this as info for anyone else thinking of getting this cradle)

I thought the S2 was a large handset, then took a look at the S3.

Too big for me. I thik the S2 is bang on for size, if your afer a big, yet still portable phone.

I disagree. The s3 is very portable. It's easier to carry about than my previous iPhone due to being lighter and much thinner. I can even put it in a shirt pocket, which I couldn't really with the iPhone due to its weight.
The S3 fits comfortably in jeans etc.

i got the S3 awesome phone love it anywayn i heard its possible to overclock a galaxy s3, is it true? is it worth it? does anybody care? lol
It's true that it's possible but why would you? It's plenty fast enough anyway. Some guys have under-clocked them to improve battery life, but I think that's more 'because I can' really. ;)

Shirt pocket?! What is this wizardry..

Also, back when the Euro's were on, I saw an amputee holding one in her only hand in a pub with no screens (yes, really..). So I guess that shows how light and easy it is to hold.

What kind of idle battery drain are people getting?

I seem to be losing about 1% per hour overnight, and I'm sure it was less than that before (but I can't remember exactly).

1% sounds about what I had though I put mine into airplane mode over night now which gives about 1 % in 7 hours

Hi

Really want an S3 but slightly put off by reports of the signal problems with them, i.e dropped calls, compared to other handsets. I'm currently with Vodaphone.
How do people on here find signal strength?

Cheers

1% per hour overnight seems about right here.

Yeah, it seems to be related to the strength of the mobile signal, so I'm going to fiddle with the network/wifi settings and see if I can improve it.

I've heard nothing about that? The signal strength and call quality is very, very good. I wouldn't worry about that.

They seem to be fairly isolated incidents. All phones suffer from antenna distortion to some degree, but on the S3 it's hardly noticeable.

I really wouldn't worry about it. The signal is just as strong as the iPhone 4S, Galaxy S2, HTC One X, etc.

I havent had any problems with signal strength or call quality. In fact it seems quite a bit better than my HTC Desire in that regard.

Oh god I love this phone!! Absolutely no competition, Samsung have nailed it. It's an absolute joy to use.

Day 1 usage, I'm very happy with this!

I have the blue one and it is lovely. I was a skeptic at first but it's gorgeous in the flesh.

Also, sound quality from the Wolfson DAC is absolutely brilliant.
