That will be the £25m Oscar deal, will it not?
Is he really bigger than Hazard, he's certainly not more expensive.
It said bigger deal, not biggest player, so its definitely not him OR Oscar will cost a lot more than the press are suggesting.
Could be an interesting deal with Newcastle. I would imagine if any deal is made that also writes off any further payments due for the original transfer. Wonder how the payments were split originally?
Newcastle have been on a kick to get the transfers in one lump sum, and likewise AFAIK Chelsea gave them 50mil in one lump sum, so it was likely they had all the cash on hand and payed in one lump sum also. Either way, what kind of idiots would Newcastle be to pay 15mil and write off 5-10mil of the original transfer, complete waste of time.
I honestly don't know why they are doing it, as for the good form Carroll showed at the end of the season, asides from being hyped up from Liverpool fans and the "lets talk up every person who could play for England this summer" lot, Carroll was as effective(or not) as he was all season. 9 goals for Liverpool, 4 in the FA cup, 1 carling, 4 league. League goals/assists came against almost no one useful, one assist against Chelsea, after they won the FA cup and were resting players and clear as day didn't care about the result and were embarrassing start to finish.... big whoop. Rest of his goals/assists were against Blackburn, Everton, Exeter, Oldham, West Brom, Bolton, Brighton, Wolves, and Man Utd(cup only, assist only). So largely against really **** teams, really really **** teams.
I don't see how he fits in with their squad, don't see why they should pay him a huge wage nor pay errm, 15mil more than Ba cost, considering every part of Ba's game is better.
Boo hoo, Carroll manhandled Chelsea a bit when they'd given up playing, and a truly **** team in the Euro's, that doesn't make him a great player, or a good player, let alone worth 15mil and a big wage.
Footballs really becoming a rather limited contest between who has the richest sugar daddies
Yup, Chelsea's massive spending led them to a massive 6th last season
Ultimately with only 11 on the pitch, there are only so many players the richest clubs can have, teams can be put together on the cheap that are just as good.
If City have Aguero, Tevez, and Balotelli, maybe RVP, that still leaves about 20 other fantastic strikers I can think of and another 50 incredibly good ones.
Either way, football has ALWAYS been dominated by the richest teams, always, and the only years other teams have been competitive 99% of the time its because they spent crazy for a couple years to do it(Blackburn, lazio).
