*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Really? That is shocking service from Google if true.

Quite, not sure how Google can even spin that in any positive fashion. I imagine a lot of people wouldn't have bothered pre-ordering (myself included) if they'd known that before.

Do people only get the £15 free voucher if purchased from the play store or will they be included in orders from other websites etc?

Everyone gets the £15, it's credited when you sign in from your device for the first time, so if you have multiple accounts like me, just make sure you add the account you want the credit first..

That's the Indian Food People, who have an odd pre-order system where you can only select 3-5 day delivery.. new orders today can pick next day for £3.99.. so they get priority in terms of processing/shipping apparantly, and as we can see (TOM_D) new orders are already awaiting dispatch, pre-orders are dealt with second.. the CS rep never did get back about his confusion that made it seem like new orders are allocated from the same stock meaning if they had sold out of pre-orders then some people may not even get one from this batch,.

Google are even worse, all 8Gb pre-orders in the office I work in, made last week, have had e-mails from Google to say they are shipping today, my July 27th 7:30PM early 16GB pre-order is no where.. according to google they are sent out in waves, some won't be even handed over for shipment until tomorrow and 'should' be delivered for Friday.. lol.. I am guessing next week, hence why I'm refusing delivery, or if DSR allows delivery charge refunds, I'll open it, switch on, put back in box and return under DSR..

Is it possible to see Google Wallet on your mobile device? I've signed up for and bought stuff of Google Play, but can't see how to access Wallet details.

How on earth can Google concentrate on dispatching new orders ahead of pre-orders!? I would not have bothered pre-ordering it if that was how things were going to be done.

Absolutely outrageous!

/EDIT - Nevermind - just seen Demon's post above :(

Anyone know of any suppliers who deliver to the Channel Islands? Going through Google Play just results in "unavailable in your country". The Indian Food People, and affiliates, do not deliver here. Neither do ePurchaser. Other than a certain auction site - which I will avoid - I can't find anywhere to order one! Very frustrating.

I wonder if there'll be another official thread that isn't 15 pages of people raging at google about delivery :)

There is always a bit of "rage" when a new product is released and groups don't get their orders fulfilled quickly. It will pass so will any need for another thread. :)

To imagine mine was just outside my door at arms reach this morning and I wasn't there to recieve it :(

But I'm doing the 1 and 1/2 hour trek tomorrow to get it :)

I still hate you TNT!

That's because the ordering system is broken. The bloke packing yours just dropped the box, picked it up and packed it anyway. The couriers van has broken down but when he picks yours up Tom he'll throw it in the back of his van, drive to the depot where him and his mates will have a game of football with yours before throwing it into another van, then throw that grand piano they ave to deliver to your neighbour on top

The driver will then drive as fast as he can over every speed bump to your house and as he walks up your path he'll drop it, smile and then ring your doorbell. You'll be out so he'll leave it with a neighbour you don't get on with who's baby son will take a runny dump on the package whilst hitting the cat with it. His mum will then put the package in the washing machine to clean it, then into the tumble dryer to dry it out.

Eventually you'll get home, find out its next door, run round to get it, rush home, open it up non the wiser to what's happened to it so far and find its perfect and everything you could wish for.

As you are enjoying your flawless Nexus 7 you put it on the settee as you go and make a nice cuppa, go back into the living room, sit down and hear a crunch.

"Nooooooooooooooooooo"

Lol ^

But your description of the packaging and delivery process is accurate. I used to work for a large PC Retailer and that's exactly how it was. :p Put fragile tape on anything and the delivery guys like to test it to see how fragile it really is!

Sorry to interrupt the stream of delivery updates and disappointments...

But, can anybody who has actually got one tell me how good is the sound through the speaker (not expecting much) and also the headphone socket.

Thanks.
