The *Official* Eve Online Thread

5 Gyros? What a complete waste. the 5th Gyro will barely add anything, even the 4th hardly makes a difference.
3 Gyro and 2x tracking enhancer will put you in a much better position 99% of the time.

Yeh nothing wrong with the tracking computer. I used to mission run in a Nightmare, 3x heatsink, 2x tracking enhancer, 2x tracking computer. Was awesome :D

Hes setup for alpha (regardless of using autos or arty) - I used to use a maelstrom setup similiarly - if you do it right you don't need to worry about tracking too much... although if it goes wrong a couple of TEs would help more.

I like making EVE feel 'realistic' by having NO sound...as you cannot hear sound in space. Sounds cannot travel through a vacuum...

If the camera was in the cockpit however, that would be a different story.

"As you know there is no sound in space, but when we were developing the capsules we found that people wanted to use as many of their senses as possible, thus we added the sound. By letting a computer create three dimensional sound we also add to the awareness you have while in battles, for instance."

Does any one play eve and pvp etc on a laptop??

Looking at an i5, gt540m,6gb ram on maybe medium settings but can't find any info.

I've triple boxed PvP on my laptop. Albeit with minimal graphics settings (6gb RAM, GTS360M) Routinely run 3 clients, have had up to 4 in the past including SISI.

I've got bored of EVE again. I think it is due to the stupid long training times I've had. Or the fact the Steam Sale stole money and then gave me crazy new games and my ADD kicked in and I played the shiny new stuff...

Anyway, sold my L4 mission running alt for 6B, bit less that I wanted, but oh well. Going to train my main to fly a Sleipnir now and read up how to use it. I still haven't used my XLASB Cyclone I made...

MMmm.. I am re-subbed.. and currently spending all my time picking up ore from around the universe.. geez i'd forgotten how long that takes.

Managed to scrape up 1.1b so far from selling old kit and running some missions, ready to jump in a Vagur as soon as training is done in about 20hrs :D

Switched back to a full T2 Mael 800 ac setup and it just melts mission ships that come in close, vagur's falloff should sort out the ships sitting further out.

Hope your going to be running the awesome OP setup. IIRC it's 2x XLASB running the smallest charges. Turn 1 on and when it runs empty, online the other. Also, remember that Marauders have really poor sensor strength so take an age to lock small stuff AND can be jammed really easy...

have you got a link to the setup?

was thinking of this to start with

4 x 800 ac t2
xlsb t2 + sba t2
3 x adaptive t2
ab t2
3 x gyro t2
2 x tracking enhancer t2
2 x CCC

gives 4k optimal + 60km falloff with the -50% t1 ammo
936dps, 800 from guns so about 530dps at falloff (Mael is 853dps with 3.5km optimal and 30km falloff)
tank peaks higher bust sustains lower than the Mael. just have to kill things quickly
