What is so special about a Honda Integra Type R - DC5?

I owned one for 18months, best engine and gearbox i've ever had the pleasure to have driven. The handling, even out of the box was amazing, it would run rings around my current subaru in terms of handling.

In my humble opinion its the best FWD car out there, hence why i bought one. Nothing else felt anywhere near as 'right'. The only way you'll understand it is to drive one, they are quite different to the EP3 and that's a fantastic car in its own right.

Downsides are there of course, you've got the normal FWD woes of getting the power down. Very expensive to tune as its N/A with JDM scene tax heavily applied to everything you want etc.

Indeed, I noticed a fibre glass mugen airbox with a panel filter is a rather princely 900 pounds.
And allegedly is no better than the standard one...

best engine and gearbox.....

I thought the DC5 had cable linkage, clearly not the best gearbox in unless that's all you've driven.

The solid linkage in the DC2 is amazeballs in comparison!

DC5 doesn't do much for me, would much rather have a K20 in a DC2, although the cost/value ratio is a but **** unless you DIY it!

Over-rated tbh, you can pay to fix a broken awesome car but you can't pay to make a super reliable dull car awesome :D

You're in a good mood today, well put :D

Personally, I think they look a lot nicer than the Civic. The newer FD2 Civic however = looks lovely

So the hyperbole begins....the K20 is amongst the best naturally aspirated four pot engines, but the best naturally aspirated engine ever? Hmmm!

I'd say the Hart 420R is a better NA 4 pot

I've always wanted to meet a driver of one and go 'Nice Integra' just to see the facial reaction :p

I have only ever seen *one* FD2 actually being driven on the roads, although I've seen a couple lurking at TGM in Fleet.

I really want one, but some words of warning from TGM about parts availability (more specifically body panels / windscreens) has put me off :(

They're lovely, and a great swan song for the N/A hot hatch, especially in white.

Just overnight the parts from Japan.
