The Newsroom - New Drama from Sorkin

Episode 3 - I don't even know what the hell it was, but it didn't feel like TV. the tension in the meeting room was killing me, brilliance.

Episode 4 - Last 5 minutes blew me away.

The added Curse Words threw me a little in the first episode, but in episode 3, i couldn't imagine it any other way.

I say it to everyone, but Sorkin is just in a whole different ball park to anybody else when it comes to Television.

Series started out well, but i didn't connect to the side characters, now I'm there on them all.

Watched the first 3 and about to watch the 4th really enjoying it so far, looks like it will be around for a while as well.

Watched the pilot last night. Didn't know what to expect but I like Jeff Daniels so gave it a shot. Really, really good pilot, looking forward to more episodes.

Phew wasn't just me then, I found that part one of the best emotion driven pieces of television I have ever seen.

You really should.

I really enjoyed it but I have to be honest, the last 5 mins I was a little "why they all upset?" As far as I could tell some people got shot? Okay... that is unfortunate but ... all that emotion?

Really loving this series, episode 4 was superb. Agreed about the last 5 minutes, it was really intense and he certainly has a way with the ladies, Jeff Daniels plays the role so well.

That meeting in Ep.3, just amazing writing.

Ep.4 was stunning until the last 10 minutes, then it was just stupidly good, Sorkin rocks.

I agree the last 10 minutes were brilliant as they seem to be every episode when they broadcast and it's incredibly intense. It's just that the preceding 50 minutes are almost cringeworthy - Jim and Maggie arguing in front of the whole office, the Bigfoot story. It's so over the top it's embarrassing to watch and detracts from an otherwise good show. Is it trying to be a comedy?

He's always wrapped comedy in to his shows. Don't see the problem, I genuinley laugh at the smart humour. I feel it makes the drama that much better when it occurs.

Really? It was good, but probably the weakest episode for me so far:

Will being stoned for most of the episode didn't seem to have an actual purpose other than to just derive a bit of cheap humour from, and the back-slapping and applauding from everyone celebrating Bin Laden's demise felt a bit awkward to watch. I know that such an even would obviously have been very different for Americans than us Brits, but it felt like they were glorifying it a bit too much.

It also struck me as a bit odd that an entire year has passed in the show since the first episode, and yet the group seem no different with each other than they did at the beginning. Perhaps I'm just crap at keeping track, but It feels like we've jumped ahead somewhere.

I'm glad there's still three more episodes though, did wonder if it was only going to be 7 or 8.

Something I've noticed. It bothered me through entire previous episode, then it finally dawned on me. Jennifer Lawrence (of Hunger Games fame), her voice, sounds just like Olivia Munn.

think i'm falling in love with Olivia Munn

Latest episode was good, but wasn't the best for me.

Show as a whole is just pure brilliance though. Thought it was 12-13 episodes this season, to hear it's 8, has made me so disappoint :(

Watched about 15 minutes of the first episode and then had to leave it (not because I didn't like it :p).

From what I've seen it looks pretty good! Got a few episodes ready to watch, so once I get some time I'll see what it's all about :D

I'm rather impressed with her acting abilities, the only other thing I know her from is G4TV's Attack Of The Show, she was good but I honestly didn't think she'd take to a more serious role (especially in an HBO show) so well.

Oh, and she's super stunning too. That helps.
